FA-Sign Lloyd or Colston
-Sign Welker
-The absolute Ballsy move would be to also sign Mario to a cap friendly deal for 2012,13. Push money into 2014 when cap explodes to 160Mill
-Carter : gone
-Anderson : if willing to sign to a decent deal then back, else part ways
-Connolly : Back
-Koppen : Gone
-Waters : Back for 1 year deal
-Light : Backfor 1 yr deal
-Branch : comes back for 1 year deal
-sign a vet blocking TE to add depth in the mold of Daniel Graham. Draft sucks this year for TE

Releases
-Ocho....time to move on
-Wright(done)
-Ellis
-others as needed

Draft
-#27 : trade #27, and #63 to move up and draft POE ! Should be able to move up to high teens

-#31 : Trade into early 2nd, pickup a 3rd...take a physical DB (Johnson ?)

-#48 : OLB/Hybrid

- #63 : traded

- early 3rd rounder via #31 trade down : OL

- #94 WR

- BIG MOVE : Quite possible Hoyer gets traded !!!

Defense
OLB : Mario, Ninkovich, Cunningham. possibly Anderson
ILB : Spikes, Mayo

DT : Wilfork, Poe, :rocker: Deadrick, Love, Pryor, etc
CB : McCourty, RasI, Arrington, Moore, Rookie 2nd rounder
Safety : Chung, McCourty(switch back n forth b/w DB and FS)

Offense
QB......We know, + Hoyer/Mallett
OL......Conolly, Waters, Mankins, Solder, Vollmer, Light, Cannon , rookie 3rd Rd
RB......Ridley, Woodhead, Vereen, Cheap Vet pickup
WR.....Welker, Lloyd, MOSS !!, Branch, Rookie @ #94
TE......Gronk, Hernandez

IN SUMMARY, A WILFORK 7 POE TANDEM WOULD BE A GREAT FIT TO MOVE BACK TO 3-4 SCHEME WHICH IS WHAT THE IDENTITY OF THIS TEAM IS.

THE WAY POE WAS MOVING AT THE COMBINE, THIS DUDE CAN EAT UP SPACE AND BE LETHAL AS A SPEEDING CATERPILLAR TRUCK BARRELING OVER OL.

Fire away :D

And the combine overreaction officially starts...

99.9999999999999999% will not happen. The slim chance, maybe the ghost of Al Davis comes back and possesses BB and judo chops the whole war room and make the trade.

Don't see us trading up to get Poe personally, but there are a lot worse ideas.

One of the concerns is that he tends to take plays off, if he came here that would be a possible issue. The good thing is that a place nice NE could help him to change that label.

I do think that a DT is taken within the first 2-3 rounds though.

If it happened, it could be a good thing for yrs to come.

I don't see it. Poe doesn't fit the archetype for players BB has taken in the first round. Given that, I don't see him giving up that much value on a boom or bust position.

He could be the next Dwayne Robertson thet way he shot up the draft board or be the next Wilfork who plummeted for no reason. We just wont know, but a 346 lb guy running sub 4.9 40, and doing 44 reps is insane mix of strength and speed, and by the looks of it best fit in 34 system.

So, I'm not sure how he dos not fit BB type player since BB drafted big DL like Seymour(2001), Ty Warren(2003), Wilfork(2004) in Rd 1 over a span of 4 years

I don't think there's as much disagreement in Poe's value as there is in having to trade up to grab him.

He's certainly going to offer someone a potential big NT/DT for the future.

I love the idea, but there are 3 teams he has to get past before it even starts to get interesting. Just for example, the Chiefs are a 3-4 team that need an NT.

Poe was named to the All Conference USA second team by the league coaches.

Yes, let's trade all our high picks for him.

Not too familiar with Poe other than what he did at the combine. I am usually skeptical of such players, since combine measurables are not totally compatible with functional movements in a football game, and furthermore do not take into account what the individual player has going on (or not) mentally.

Be that as it may, the Patriots might be more inclined to trade up this year if there is a player they covet, due to the rookie wage scale. However, my hunch is them staying pat and taking someone (Fletcher Cox or best available offensive lineman) with one of their first rounders, and trying to push the other first rounder into next season.

Two words: college production.

Note that I am agnostic on Poe as a prospect, just stating why I believe it's unlikely the Patriots would move up for him.

If Poe dropped ala Wilfork THEN maybe BB would pull the trigger. Does ANYBODY here know who BB covets in the first round? Even BB doesn't know this early. After some Interviews he'll trim down his list. He usually lets the draft come to him on draft day. With picks to trade, he'll get plenty of calls.
In the meantime, I'll be yelling at the tv when he trades down and my binky is still on the board for the taking

BB will tell you that Guys like Poe don't fall off trees...did any of of see the Nate Soldeir pick coming last year? Size and athleticism is something you cant Teach. I think if Poe is there BB drafts him but i think he goes Top 12 - 13.

If he's smart and coachable, maybe he's a project with upside at the right pick. I know nothing about him, or what BB thinks of him.

Just to play devil's advocate...if he didn't dominate conference USA with that size and speed, what's he going to do against athletes used to huge fast guys?

Poe looked amazing at the combine. I mean lets kick the facts here, he's 340 if i'm not mistaken and ran a sub 5 second 40? That's absolutely ridiculous. Unfortunately I think he is projected to be long gone by number 27. Not to mention I believe he is a 3-4 guy.

I like drafting guys who have proven they have football skills.
How fast a 340 lber can run 40 yards on a field all by himself could be one of the most irrelevant facts ever discussed about football.

Would you honestly feel good going into the season with this bunch as our secondary? The big improvement is an unnamed 2nd rounder?

RE Moss... That ship has sailed and then it sank. Twice.

And Dowling, who beat out Arrington and Bodden to start, remember.
