Watch Belichick pick him up because he'll be cheap and he's a veteran... LMAO Please Patriots staff, Stay away and spend money d%#*!@t. lol

Watch the jets sign him! :D

He's done. The Steelers basically forced the ball to him at times last season. He can't separate.

Please God make it stop.

Ben's probably tickled. Ward bailed his ass out consistently over the years, but he was also one of the few players not afraid to stand up to Ben and call him out. Whines is an odd dude in his own right, though. I believe I read recently where he picked up a DUI last summer and just pled it out to reckless driving. Retirement may not go so well.

Why can't he?

Oh that's right because like other human beings he's aged and his once stellar skills have faded.

Only Randy Moss is immune to this aging process.

Does this mean that we won't hear "Hall of Fame bound" Hines Ward 600 times per game? Never seen such a bunch of insecure, whiny fans as that of the Steelers. As if they don't have enough HoFers, now they need to put a guy in who never even came close to dominating his position. Yeah, blah, blah, blah he's a good blocker. I'll take plenty of non Hall of Fame receivers over him.

Ward should have retired a year ago. Great player nonetheless and I hope he enjoys retirement.

Probably my least favorite player in recent NFL history. Good riddance.

Their idea of what a HOF receiver is is justifiably skewed with Swann and Stallworth being elected.

Hines Ward was the Rodney Harrison of offense. You may not have liked him in a Steeler uniform, but you would have loved him as a Patriot, just as you would have hated Harrison had he played for the Jets.

That is a great point!

+1. I hated him on the Steelers but would have loved him on the Pats.

I don't know. Some people on here think that Welker's going to be elite forever too. Ward fell off at age 34. A 4 year contract puts Welker at 34 in his final year:eek:

Please, Hines, please...sign with the Jets for too much money.

(Who names their baby Hines, anyway?)

Stallworth belongs. Swann got in because of his post season, but was held back by the era he played in too.

Avg'ng 71.5 catches a year, and 863 yds a year, with 6 years of 1000 yards(4 straight), and two more years of 975 yards, and to add to that one of the best blocking WR in the history is not HOF consideration ?

What does his performance have to do with what past Steelers have done or not done ?

The guy played for 14 years, and caught 1000 balls and was a beast of blocking WR. Not too shabby for a 3rd round pick.

Your ignorance and bias is pretty evident.
i hate the Steelers too but I respect what Ward has done on the field.

Cool. He still never dominated his position.
