re: 2/29 Walter FB Mock: Michael Brockers, Andre Branch, Harrison Smith, Marvin Jones

I posted this earlier in the mock draft thread, I think its the perfect scenario for the Patriots. Everyone but Donte Paige-Moss has been mentioned as someones binky on here recently.

27. Michael Brockers- DE/DT- LSU
31. Andre Branch- DE/OLB- Clemson
48. Harrison Smith- S- Notre Dame
63. Marvin Jones- WR- Cal
94. Casey Hayward- Vanderbilt
126. Donte Piage-Moss- DE/OLB- UNC (Jarius Wright went the next pick)

They have Crick going in the 4th at 113 to the Cowboys

Wow the 4th why the eff am i so intrigued by this beast. His 2010 season was great and then he got injured this season. He can play multiple spots on the line and has a nonstop motor. He is a Belichick guy well at least this Belichicks guy :p:rocker::rocker::rocker::eat2:

I was never really that high on Crick and thought he was a little overrated. But he really impressed me at the combine and I think he stood out in the drills. Unfortunately at 279lbs I don't think he has the size to be a 2-gap 3-4 DE. I do think he will make a very good 4-3 LDE, unfortunately not with the Pats. I also think he will probably go a litlle higher that 113. I think he is probably a 3rd round pick, maybe a late 2nd if some team really likes him.

Isnt he bigger than Mark Anderson?

Much bigger, but its unlikely they will play a base 4-3 again.

Wow, that's the best I've ever seen from WF. Imagine if the last pick were Wright instead of that useless diva DPM. I would celebrate like mad.

I highly doubt a lot of those players are available at those spots, however.

I wonder if BB has the same communication with Les Miles on Brockers situation that he does with Saban.

I remember the year Vince fell to us it was awesome even though the pats almost used all the clock to take while I was screaming to do it!!!!

Insert Jarius Wright at 126 and that is the best mock I've seen to date.

He has Richardson going to the Jets. Richardson and Green next season. Ouch! Hope we have lots of LBers that can take a physical pounding next season.

Only 2 QB's in the first round? And the Jets taking a 29 year old QB in the second round?

Tanneyhill slipping could be good for us. Would think Seattle or loser of RG3 trade would want to trade up for him. I'd drop from 31 to 43 for their 2nd next year. That should be a fairly early 2nd since they still don't have a qb.

re: 2/29 Walter FB Mock: Michael Brockers, Andre Branch, Harrison Smith, Marvin Jones

That's a dream draft but there's no way Brockers makes it to us. Sure other people out performed him but a few reporters said that various team officials were amazed with Brockers stature. Basically said he looks like a grown man already with a lot more room to grow.

re: 2/29 Walter FB Mock: Michael Brockers, Andre Branch, Harrison Smith, Marvin Jones

The problem I have with these Mocks is that none of them take into account the effect of FA on what a team does in the draft. In this example it supposes a need a S early in the draft. However if the Pats pick up one of the high end Safeties in FA, then the need to draft a S with one of the first 5 picks is lessened.

That being said, I would change this draft so it would look like this:
27. Michael Brockers- DE/DT- LSU
31. Andre Branch- DE/OLB- Clemson
48. Steve Hill - WR - Georgia Tech
63. Trumaine Johnson - CB/S Montana
94. Casey Hayward- CB Vanderbilt
126. Derrick Wolfe - DE/DT Cincinatti

replace hill with quick and i'm a happy man.
Hill looks to Chad Jacksonish for my liking.

That's the best mock yet, but I'd like to sub out DPM for Childs please.

Replace Hayward with McClellin at 94 and it's even better

I would happily trade 31 straight up for Washington or Cleveland's 2013 1st. I would prefer to get a little extra this year, but I would settle for a top 10 pick in 2013 because I don't think Tannehill could turn either of those teams around in 1 year.
