Patriots AWAY game in London vs. Rams October 28th

I assume this means its likely that the Patriots Bye Week will be week 9 on November 4th weekend since I believe those overseas games usually precede that teams week off.

Week 9 Bye sounds perfect to get the players some rest and heal up for the home stretch, if it indeed is the bye week.

I thought the bye week typically followed the international game? That way both teams have the same limitations going into the game, but neither team is at a disadvantage the following week? That's how it went in 2009, anyways.

I think teams that play out of country should get the following week off because of the trip to and from and would be exhausted playing the next week,hopefully that means November 4th and Week 9 would be the Pats Bye Week.

Maybe it will be like 2009,not sure but its definately going to be October 21st or November 4th that they get off.

Good. I thought it made for an interesting week last time and I maybe I actually go this time. I would love to check out Europe and what better excuse than a Pats game.

It might not always be the case but I dont think the NFL is trying to take home games away from teams that always sell out when they can take it from teams that never sell out and have them sell out overseas.

I would expect November 11th two weeks before Thanksgiving to be about the time we usually play the Colts,at least in the past when Indy had Manning and they were a good team it was that way.

The Colts once again are coming to Foxboro,so that would be a Home game if my prediction works out.

Didn't the Rams volunteer to give up a home game to be in London every year? I think that this is actually a case where the Rams made the decision, for the same reason that you cited. They'd rather sell out in London, and get some consideration from the league (I think?) than not sell out at home.

I could see why they would want to under current circumstances play home games in London as they are not selling out at home but I am not sure the solution to no selling out at home would be to just permanantly move a home game to london. Sure supply goes down and normally that would create a higher demand but this might backfire as the locals may see it as the owners now investing in them.

So while they might be willing to play one there every year I dont see the value in telling your local fans that you would like to do this.

The key to change ST. Louis problem is one simple idea...........START WINNING GAMES!

Once they become relevant again those seats will be filled and they won't worry about playing in London
.....Kraft can tell any owner what it takes to have SRO each home game:get your team into the playoffs consistently and fans will pay.

The game before the trip to London typically is a home/East coast game as well to cut down on travel. You could likely pencil in home game or a game at Buffalo/NYJ the week before the trip.

In 08-SD played in Buffalo, New Orleans played in Charlotte.

In 09-New England played at home, TB played at home.

In 2010-SF played in Charlotte; Denver played at home

In 2011-Chicago played at home; TB played at home.

Agree on the principle and I do think you're right about the timing, i.e., the week after, and not before, the game.

Maybe I've made the trip far too many times, but let's not get too carried away on the "exhausted" aspect of this.

Yes, the time zones are greater, but the flight itself from Boston to London is shorter than the flight from Boston to California; the flight back is longer because of the head winds, but still it doesn't get much over 6 1/2 hours.

So, yeah, in general it's fair to give these teams the next week off, but we are talking about world class athletes in their 20's and 30's.

Yeah, if they want to use a Pats game as one of their primary games for the ratings sweeps (10/25-11/21) time period (like they almost always did with Pats-Colts) then I would say the best bet would be for the Pats at Ravens; other good possibilities would be home games vs 49ers or Texans, and there's always the chance of a Pats-Jets game then too. I think the networks will lobby for the Broncos-Pats rematch to be held very early to eliminate the chance of it taking place if/when Denver is a sub-.500 team and Tebow has been replaced as QB.

Even though the Pats are the conference champions I think they will have fewer late (either night or late afternoon national) games as they did last year, with a lot more 1:00 kickoffs. I'm guessing there might be only six or seven primetime or 4:00 national games: 49ers, Texans, Broncos, Ravens, Jets x2 and one of the Dolphins games. The Seattle game is of course a late kickoff but CBS isn't going to make that their game of the week. Fox could make the Arizona game their game of the week since it's one of only two chances to broadcast a Pats game, but I think they'd rather just stick with a game with any team from the NFC East.

We might see the Pats play in Seattle on 11/11/12 after the bye. Patriots Tailgate and the Boston Sports Fan Group of Seattle will be organizing a Saturday night party and pre-game party (no tailgating in Seattle) for this game and expect this to be our biggest road game of the 2012 season by far.
