the only way i can think through what america wants to see is, "what would be the easiest way to hype the game..."

i think suberboy (payton) -v- mvp (lt) would be easy. as would the angle of "the player who hasn't won it all" (payton) against "the coach who hasn;t won it all" (marty).

after that, it would simply be a matter of san diego team -vs- new orleans and san diego's tossed-aside qb (brees). if (if, if, if) the chargers make it to the big game against the saints, the chatter about the qb controversy will be everywhere...

What media are you talking about?? Everyone I talk to expects the Chargers to win in a landslide, and that includes most of the media here in cali. Maybe I'm on the wrong side of the bridge??

You must be in Southern Cal... so I'd expect you to be hearing that type of talk. But check out the media outlets.

NFL Network, ESPN (radio, TV, and Web), FoxSports, CNNSI, etc etc...

I'm saying if you take all predictions for tomorrow's AFC matchup it'll be nearly 50/50 in terms of who's picking which team to win. And even when they pick the Chargers a lot of 'em will say something like "well, since I picked the Chargers last month to win it all, I guess I'll have to stick with 'em... but I won't be surprised if Bill Belichick and Tom Brady go in and steal one"

I'm glad though. It's keeping the minds of the Chargers players focused on the fact that they haven't won Jack Sh)t yet.

How bout the Chargers though! A city whos sports have been nothing but dissapointing and have never won a Super Bowl or World Series? Yep, im pretty sure everyone but Indy fans will be rooting for San Diego.

Best part is the Chargers are heavy favorites and expected to win, so all the pressure is on them. The Patriots aren't even supposed to win this game, at least according to most people outside Patriot Nation.
