Patriots way headed down rocky path??

Bill played golf in the Pebble Beach Pro Am this weekend, the sure sign of internal decay.

Nevermind the teams full of high-priced free agents who busted out before the playoffs. it's the PATRIOTS, with their young roster and HoF QB that just played in a Super Bowl, who are ruined!

LOL, on the Sound FX snippet of "Make them go to Manningham":

"...Belichick caught on tape talking so openly about family business."

Another buffoon sportswriter whom I'd never have heard of if it weren't for this board. That whole site looks like a waste of time.

Ummm...BB knew he was miked up for NFL Films....and its no secret that Cruz and Nicks were more important to the Giants offense than Manningham...

Coverage couldn't have been much better and Manningham made a circus tightrope catch ala Tyree...

This guy is a sports writer?

Most phones have cameras now....Gronk and Light partying and being released on youtube is today's technology personified...It's not a big deal unless you're looking for any story....

Pats headed down a rocky path? LMAO ..oh wait...That's the band they were dancing to

Another waste of time. Half of the posters on this board could write more insightful pieces than this drivel. It is another example of the New York based media gloating. He is probably a Jets fan.

IF BB is nothing else (and we know he's more), he's very consistent in his approach. Though, people may not understand his perspective, they feel he makes errors.

In the end, who gets more out of a player than this set of coaches?

Let me summarize so people don't give this hack any more clicks.

  • Giselle is part of the Patriots organization, and because she said something that shows that "Patriots Way" is crumbling. She was supposed to just let Giants fans give her crap and not say anything, and not care whether her husband's team won or lost. Bill Belichick should have taught her that in the heat of an emotional moment she should have known that someone in the private suite would be recording everything she said without her knowledge; it is his fault the video was released.

  • Players after a loss are supposed to wallow in self pity, especially at a private, invite-only event for players and a relatively small number of close friends and family. To do anything else is proof that the "Patriot Way" is crumbling. The fact that Bill Belichick did not screen attendees with more scrutiny to insure that the video did not get leaked is proof that he's losing it. Everyone should have had to go through a metal detector and be forced to check their cellphones at the door, apparently. Once again it is Belichick's fault that the video was released.

  • Belichick should not say anything to any of his players during the course of the game, give them directions, or any advice. He should tell NFL Films that they are not allowed to mic him for the Sound FX series. Nobody would ever say anything bad about him for refusing to be mic'd for the game, right?

  • Oh yes, and it's also Belichick's fault that a Denver fan dumped the Butterfingers in Copley Square for that classless PR stunt.

I'm surprised the writer didn't blame Belichick for mortgage industry collapse, unemployment, and the sinking of that cruise ship while he was at it.

So right. Imagine if they had iPhones and the Internet back in the '70s? Probably be some interesting videos and photos of some of the best teams in sports then. Steelers, A's, Yankees, Joe Namath's Jets ... heck, even the Packers of the 60s. Some players on those teams might have partied a bit.

An amusing thing on the Gronk thing is: Once the video got out, only a small percentage of media types criticized Gronk. Most said "no big deal." But now, a week later, the video is described as having "raised eyebrows."

One thing that is definitely working against the Patriots, as has been touched on, is how so many in the national media are New York-based. How can anyone doubt that that — and the NY-Bos rivalry — shape the coverage and attitude that much of the country sees? Little things like the bit on the upside down rings; also, when (I think it was) Rick Reilly wrote a thoughtful column on mostly media reaction to the SB being over the top, the ESPN.com headline tease was "Sore Losers." Dumb. Crap like that, plus these dime-a-dozen reactionaries like this Reiter clown. Absurd.

Bill Reiter Fox Sports- What a bunch of crap

Bill Belichick and Tom Brady's New England Patriots have lost their way - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN

Giselle mouths off
Gronk dances
Bill makes bad decision?

Classic example of a sports writer that doesn't have a clue..

Yeah, what a bunch of crap, so post it and people will click on it and give this nobody the web hits he so desperately desires, creating an incentive to keep on writing the same type of drivel.

If it weren't for members of this board, I'd be blissfully ignorant of what every halfwit jackoff hack has to say about this football team.

Let us revisit this next January. The Pats will be a top 2 seed. The Giants will miss the playoffs.

Sore Losers?

Where did that headline come from?

Never saw any Patriot reactions that would make that type of headline.

Another trash article. Writers must really be hurting for things to write about.

Go to Manningham was the right call. Take away Nicks and Cruz first. The pass just happened to be one in a million. The writer is a idiot on this.

Last I heard, both teams in the Super Bowl plan an after game party. Some players go, some don't. How its always been. Gronk just happened to go and unwind. Big deal! The writer is an idiot on this.

Patriots have a lot of promise, good cap space, good draft positions, if you think some of these little things people seem to make a big deal about are going to derail them it's crazy.

In short, the writer of the article is an idiot and apparently needs to fill some space to get paid. Most writers are hacks!

This is a classic case that any knucklehead can write comments from a perspective that spans his graduation from middle school in 2007.

And the sunspots, don't forget the sunspots.

Thanks God we only have to suffer this kind of post till July.

Sports journalism race to the bottom. Probably a pen name for Borges.

Another douche making ASSumptions from a distance.

Stick with basketball, it's more to your vainglorious style, Mr. Reiter.
