I think America is rooting against the Patriots, to be honest. They want to see somebody else win it all. The Pats aren't flashy (like the Chargers or Colts), instead they're methodical and efficient. A lot of outsiders I've come across say they're sick of hearing how great Tom Brady is in the playoffs and want to see him fail. There are people who loves the Patriots and hate the Chargers, but I believe there are far more who want to see the Patriots lose. To hell with them. You can call it inferiority complex if you want, I call it as I see it. Here's hoping the Patriots put the haters to rest.

I think being from New England, or even the Northeast, turns off a lot of people in the rest of the country also. I remember in the buildup week prior to SB XXXIX, my local paper's sports columnist said she wasn't as interested in the SB like she usually was because both teams were from the Northeast. Maybe it's jealously who knows. I'm not jealous, but I don't dislike people from up there either (obviously if I did I wouldn't support the Pats).

What media are you talking about?? Everyone I talk to expects the Chargers to win in a landslide, and that includes most of the media here in cali. Maybe I'm on the wrong side of the bridge??
