Anyone else over Rodney Harrison?

I can't lie. I'm a little tired of him talking smack about the Patriots and every move they make. I understand when he was here, they did things a little differently but riding Gronk for having a little fun after a huge loss? Really?

People deal with things differently, if Rodney wanted to kill himself or stay depressed for the rest of the year then so be it. You are talking about a 22-23 year old kid that broke every single freagin TE record possbible and played as best as he could in the Superbowl....

He keeps talking about, "What he would have done and what Bruschi would have done if they had just lost that game." Who cares. This is a different team, much younger so let them be. They got here after you and all of your analyst friends doubted them the whole way. Please fall back!

I must ask you, weren't you just a bit surprised to see all that dancing by guys who lost? What's to celebrate? The loss? Just being there? Puleeeeaaasse... The fans felt like crap after that loss and some of those players showed us what? I would say they certainly did not show that there was any downside in their minds about losing. Now, I'm a pretty reasonable guy but their behavior spoke volumes to me and they were negative volumes. Sorry but that's how I feel.

I am sure that Tedy felt the same way, he would not have given them a pass for that and he, like Rodney would be 100% correct.

They act like Gronk didn't get out there and try to play. He's been successful all season so whats a little party? A few beers? The season is over, they are people too. Why should we question the way the guy acts after the season is over?

I'm sure the loss hurt everybody, the whole team but does that mean you automatically have to mourn for the rest of the week? C'mon man. Rodney acts like he is still part of the team. Be an analyst, not a mommy.

This is a new team, still successful but this is a totally different team. It doesn't have to go the way it did back then when he was on the team.

But it wasn't the smartest thing to do on a lot of levels, which is excusible in Gronk's case given his age and personality and the fact we know he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, just one of the most talented and likeable, and especially considering his veteran dancing partner. Although who knows, that may have been Light's retirement dance.

Rodney gets paid to give his opinion. He is trying to set himself apart from other talking heads by speaking his mind more no matter who it might ruffle and that means the Patriots could get in his cross hair too. I don't want him to lay into the Jets and then give the kid gloves to the Pats.

I think the media are making too much of a big deal about the after Super Bowl party. I would love to think they all just huddled in a circle and sung Irish folk songs and drown their sorrows in beer, but people deal with grief in different ways.

I can honestly say I have come home from a miserable day or week at work and partied to get my mind off it. Losing the Super Bowl is a really, really bad day at work, but spending a few hours after the game partying doesn't change that they are all devestated because of the loss. Gronk and Light might have danced with their shirts off to lighten the mood.

The funny thing is that the thing that endeared Gronk to the media and fans is his positive attitude and by all accounts is always upbeat. And now that attitude is what souring him on some fans and the media.

First off no one said anything about the pats giving Gronk any grief. Second, that's not the way it works here and if they have a criticism he will hear it and act on it or it won't matter if he wants to throw a career away in it's infancy. But he's not that kind of dumb, just a little immature. He's coachable and takes direction. He just got some bad direction from his NFLPA rep Sunday night.

I've have posted this before. I personally know players and coaches of losing SB teams who went to party's after the game.

The team put them on at great expense and the players are expected to be there. Some did not feel like going, but once there joined in.

I have not heard what Rodney said. I think he must know this. Maybe it was the extent of dancing, I don't know, but times do change.

I'd rather have them do that then getting drunk and trashing the room or driving drunk or getting into fights after the game.

Rodney's issue was with the taking the shirts off and dancing in public at a team function hours after losing a SB. I don't think he'd have an issue with them getting hammered or attending the party, or even dancing with their shirts on at a private function, it was the cavalier behavior at a team sponsored event that rubbed him the wrong way. I too think it was over the top, and if we saw another teams players doing that we would be ripping him naked limb from limb...and saying no wonder they lost. I was more disappointed in Light, although to tell you the truth he's never struck me as the all in or fully accountable type. Not that he's a slacker per se, and he certainly had a good season even in comparison to some of his more recent ones, but it's almost as if he has that I hunt but it's because smarter than my prey and the sheep attitude - which I increasingly sensed coming from Vrabel in his last couple of seasons, too. They bristled a little under scrutiny and weren't necessarily on board with taking one as or for the team. It's why I wasn't surprised when he was packaged in the Cassel deal. Light may be heading in the same direction.

Rodney speaks openly and from a wealth of personal experience as a leader (debatably the leader) in the Pats' locker room during the SB era. Anyone who writes off what he says just because it's not fun to hear is doing themselves a disservice, IMO.

This is cool and as I said, I understand that this is how he remembers the Patriot locker room but my argument is that its not 2003,2004 anymore. Its a totally different era with a totally different team. He can criticize whomever he choses but I think he has not right to talk about what they do on there personal time.... even if that is partying after a Superbowl loss.

I love Rodney and if this is what he thinks I'm fine with it. I'm also fine with Gronk and his team mates blowing off steam after the game. The season was over, nothing was going to change that. These guys just went through over 6 months of the most intense physical and mental exertion that can be found outside the military. It wasn't a funeral, it was the end of the season and it ended badly but life goes on.
No matter what though, I will always have respect for Rodney, Tedy, Willie, Mike Vrabel and the rest of that gang, they earned it.

I never got the feeling he trashes the Patriots when he analyzes them. At times I think he can be too kind, but not too homerish. He was asked his opinion on what have happened with the old guard and gave his opinion. With that being said, Gronk and Light should only worry about what their employeers have to say about it. I care more about the draft and free agency at this point.
