Gresh's grades

My only real quibble would be with the Brady rationale vs. all the drops and the OL grade. Mankins was worse than Gresh acknowledged. I read they got 27 pressures in 41 dropbacks. They didn't open holes for a RB who needs them and they were directly responsible for a handful of negative runs and a costly sack when the Giants were rushing 3???

When I watched the game last night I thought Collinsworth said Vollmer replaced Solder b/c Nate wasn't getting the job done. Gresh is saying the opposite. Can someone clarify?

I tend to think collinsworth is right b/c it appeared as though Vollmer played a majority of the 2nd half while Solder appeared on the KR game and at TE.

BJGE is an unrestricted free agent and did nothing in this game to warrant any more money then the salary he’s making right now.

Interesting comment. I wonder if BB agrees.

Grading team needs based on 1 game doesn't make sense. Mankins was playing with a knne injury he got in Dec, remember?, Brady reinjured a shoulder he injured in Dec, Gronk we all know about.

The back 7 especially the DB's are a very young group experience was an issue there.

He apparently read the Grantland article that shows us moving to a hybrid d, ie we aren't either a 3-4 or a 4-3.

He would seem to since they made no effort to extend him. He is what he is and needs too much help to be an impact player, although it would be fine to keep him around at reasonable money. But they need more, whether Vereen or Ridley can provide enough more is unknown. Personally I'd love to see a veteran thumper but the trouble with them is they are stop gaps at best due to the nature of the position and sometimes hit the wall before you get anything out of them. Woodhead for Faulk is fine. Otherwise the entire unit could be upgraded. Just don't know yet if those upgrades are already on the roster or not because one came on slowly and then hit a big bump in Bill's version of the road and the other couldn't get on the field no matter what...

Well, those grades served as a reminder never to take Gresh seriously.

Do go on....

(not disagreeing, just curious)

I've tried to avoid most of the player-by-player stuff, so I'll just note one example:

Judging Gronkowski as if he were healthy when it's already known that he's not is the sort of typically asinine thing I'd expect from Gresh.

The defense gave up 17 points not 19...

Gresch is what he is, a blowhard, who I am a little liking better, but still have difficulty with his sophomoric humor and his voice that goes right down my backbone.

^why 17...
