I wish Patriot fans had a `Patriot Way`

let's face it, many fans are just boneheads and have the IQ of a log. When the Patriots lose, they have to blame someone for the lost. That's how simpletons think.

i completely agree but it is what it is... Pats fans are pretty disappointed right now but I still am not that mad- I think we played a great game but the Giants just made more plays than we did. I actually have ran into some classy giants fans, have not had a problem... everyone is actually being really nice about the loss-

Awesome OP!!!!!! I remember as Adam lined up for that kick in New Orleans 10 years ago that if he made this kick, I wouldn't care if the Patriots went 6-10 for the next 10 years, they would owe me nothing and id love them forever. Well, if someone told me that night there would be 10 more years of contention, 4 more Super Bowls, and 2 more championships I wouldn't have believed it. As far as I can remember, Larry Bird and Bobby Orr didn't win the title every year, The Packers and Steelers and 49ers didn't win every year. The Sainted Tom Landry and Roger Staubach only won 2 Super Bowls. So Belichick and Brady take a team with no defense to a Super Bowl and they get this from so-called fans? Just wait until they are gone. I have relocated since 2004. I love Boston teams. I love the old school fans. Not this generation of bandwagon jumpers, the "everything sucks" crowd. You know, people, the Bruins won a Stanley Cup 8 months ago. So much for enjoying anything.

I think a lot of fans are upset, angry, venom-filled, etc because they can't believe we lost again to the damned Giants and because they realize how hard it is.

I've been very upset and angry and haven't been shy to criticize the team for mistakes, partying after the game, etc. That said, I'm not ignoring the great game 95% of the team played for 50 minutes. **** happens. It just sucks when it's Brady making a BONE HEAD throw or Welker missing a practically game-winning catch. A safety on the first offensive play of the game with BRADY and really not all that much pressure? That's just unacceptable. I know it happened, I think he otherwise did pretty much the best he could and I love that it matters to him. But damn, it's a tough one to get over.

For me the reason it hurts so bad is not just that it was to the Giants again but because we all know that the 'window' is closing for Brady and he might not have many more shots at getting to the Superbowl again, let alone winning one. It's tough. I love the team, I think it was a great season. I know 31 teams lose and only 1 gets to win the Superbowl, but damn, again we were soooooo close and couldn't get it done. It SUCKS getting that close, THAT close....

Next year, damnit. Next year.

There is a reason we don't have world peace.

yes mo.....you are a better fan due to the manner in which you convince yourself that others are lesser fans.

there is not a bigger feminine hygiene product than you

Waaaah, waaaaah, the Patriots came with a foot (in more ways than one) of winning their 4th SuperBowl in 11 years and they should be roundly dissed for not getting the trophy the Fellowship of the Miserable demand.

And if anyone disagrees with a Fellowship member they get called a "feminine hygiene product".

Long Live the Fellowship!!!!!!.........just down the stairs and to the left in their parent's basement.

you could not be more wrong.

I've been appreciative since they moved to foxboro......they've been 10 min away for most of my life. I'e gone to games wheneve I've wanted to whther I've had season tickets or not. I've seen many of the players over the years and have seen a few of them in my parents house. much more connected to players in the distant past than now..... I've seen this team be successful more than just recently..... at the end of the day, all you have is a box score and some other things. its just a game and nothing more.

if you make it out to be something more than just entertainment and a game, then that's your problem

Ah, but you're wrong my friend. It goes much deeper than "just entertainment and a game." It's certainly not war and peace or life and death. But on a subconscious level it's something akin to that. Sports in modern society stir passions for a reason. Cultural anthropologists will tell you that sports represent a "civilized" surrogate for tribal warfare, which is in our DNA. That's why it means so much when it seems it shouldn't.

I'm not wrong, you're wrong.....I've played enough football, coached enough football, watched enough football to know it is exactly that.......and a whole lot of money

I remember the 'celtic way', and now the 'bruin way' and up until last september there was the 'red sox way' which only took a couple of weeks to completely unravel.

the pats don't have all the answers right now. they don't have a recipe for anything right now but beating weak teams......this idea that discipline will always beat talent seems to forget the talent that was there at the time

over the years, there were guys that weren't all that patriotic here that the team would have done nothing without. cox, seymour, washington, harrison, law were all thugs who rode with the winning. how many SB's have the pats won without these guys?

so how did the dumping of richard seymour work out? get rid of him and add nate solder.....don't get me wrong....I think solder is great, but this is classic wheel spinning.......

this term 'patriot way' is a myth......the pats currently have a good business model which makes it easy to be competitive. however, since 2004, the steelers, giants, colts, packers, and saints have all done something the pats have not, and the seahawks, cardinals and bears have reached the same milestone.

fans are regular people. at times, the mass can have their collective expectation heightened, partly due to this 'patriot way' myth that leads people to believe that the pats have some kind of method to make them better than they really are. a far cry from 'it is what it is'

I feel sorry for the kids you "coached." :bricks:

no..he assumes that because he knows, as most of us do, that you are a Rat troll, posting like the gutless coward you are, under the guise of some arrogant "objective Pats fan" handle.

Keep posting your garbage like the little cowardly green puke you've always been....you provide the board with much needed unintentional (on your part) humor.

Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser.

Pats fans have every right to be upset and question the team. Since 2006 the New England Patriots have been putting on a clinic on how to choke away games and people deserve to be upset.

Seems you missed the Denver and Baltimore playoff games this year. You can check out scores and highlights at NFL.com.

Seriously, I don't know if you're drunk or not, but you need to get a freakin' life. Actually, if you are drunk, this might be in some way understandable. Calling someone a feminine hygiene product? Are you serious? You're rambling like Captain Queeg. In my opinion, you don't know squat about football and you know even less about serious discourse. If Brady and/or Belichick became free agents, how long do you think before 28-30 teams would be calling them? Here's the answer: within 10 freakin' seconds. You mentioned in a glorified manner the Steelers, Giants, Colts, Packers, Saints, Seahawks, Cardinals and Bears. Pick one, or pick them all, and go root elsewhwere. Undoubtedly, you'd turn on them as soon as the slightest bit of adversity arrived. You're a quitter and the antithesis of what the NE Patriots stand for. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Look in a mirror if there is one in your dorm room and I'll show you a loser. You're the poster boy for classic game thread kneejerk frontrunner fan. Hell, a year ago you were waxing poetic about Sanchez in the AFCC and Rex was the best HC in the league and the JETS had the best teambuilding philosophy in the league... You have no basis on which to criticize anyone, least of all a HOF QB and HC, and you don't deserve anything from this team. You picked them to lose all the way. What the hell are you upset over...

No, he was in the game threads. Predicting doom almost from the outset. He's one of those fans...

Don't get mad because I don't buy your myth...... I am sure plenty of teams would chase BB and Brady, but what does that have to do with your myth? Plenty I'll come calling for manning....is he tuned into the patriot way?

I've been a pats fan longer than you, and will always be. Is your little hissy fit something relevant to the patriot way?
