I doubt the Pats will go for a FA RB

I think LaDanian Tomlinson is also a UFA ... he curiously had a lot of nice things to say about the Patriots during a segment he folmed for Showtimes Inside the NFL a few weeks ago.

LaDanian Tomlinson.

Surely you can't be serious.

VJack or Bowe

forget any burner 50 yards down the field.......brady can no longer get the ball there.

Let me offer a bit of a different on the issue of WR. Yes we need to sign Welker and we need another WR. Ocho is not cutting it.

But first and foremost we need to get an OC that like to run the ball. When the Pats won the SB we had a real running game. We had OL that had an attitude. If you look at the Giants there front five know that they have to run block as well as pass block.

I think we have the RB's that can get the job done. Matt Light is done at LT. I think Solder takes over next year. Mankins is good and I think would like to hit more people. He is a natural pulling guard.

Koppen is done at Center. There are a couple of good centers coming out in the draft. I would grab one with a 2nd round pick. I know that BB does not draft centers but something needs to be done.

Waters moves to the background as Gannon takes over. Vollmer is in danger of loosing his job. He has been injured a lot. Matt Light might come over here.

If we force defenses to bring up their safeties to do run support it will give the wr's more room to work in.

That is my two cents. I hope that this post does not wind up in the Practice Squad area..

I wouldnt touch him with a pole, we have some young RBs, I'd much rather get them involved than bring in Mr. Classy, who is a shell of his former self.

Ha, I like the idea of adding the former Mcdaniels WR corps, it would be affordable, they are familiar with the system, and Lloyd still had 70 receptions on two terrible offenses.

Lloyd, the middle priced, veteran FA, a borderline probowler with a real QB.

Royal, the buy low FA. Only 25, had a great rookie season, and is a burner.

Welker/Lloyd/Royal/Branch/rookie/Edelman

I'll be rooting for this.

This combo would be awesome......... maybe BB should trade up in the draft to get a WR (we have the 27 and 31 PICK in the first round)

Brandon Lloyd/Colston are the 2 most realistic options BUT what I would give for Vincent Jackson (off field troubles aside)

6'5", fast, great hands and extremely physical

Colston isnt really a burner but he is a big target who goes up for the ball and usually always makes the catch in key moments. The Saints have several free agents including Brees, Nicks, and Colston. If they get Brees signed before FA starts, and everything seems to indicate they will, they use their tag on one of the others and if I had to guess they'll use it on Nicks because I think Colston will be easier to sign from the chatter I hear in New Orleans.

Meachem is intriguing to me but at the same time I would think a guy they drafted in the first round a few years back would have more receptions, especially in that offense. I think he was like 6th on the team this year. That said, he is fast and probably wouldn't be too pricey.

The key is UFA, who on that list are UFA's ? If Vincent Jackson is an UFA, I say jump on him and Desean Jackson. This completely improves our offense (AND Special Teams with Desean). Pierre Garcon and Jerome Simpson might be some nice cheap alternates.

I honestly like V.Jax over any of them after Welker is resigned but I could deal with D. Jackson as well. He's a beast.

Won't happen in a million years. D-Jax is the living embodiment of every negative WR stereotype that has ever existed.

Finding WR who can play in this system is very difficult. Sign Lloyd, resign Welker, Edleman is under contract, release Ocho, resign Branch for depth and resign Slater for ST's, E Royal is a possibility, but don't know his cost......Branch will be cost effective as a backup.

Underwood and a rookie to compete for a possible last spot, However IMO a 3rd TE is mote important to the roster.

Piere Garcon would be intriguing too. I would like to see Ted Ginn out there returning kicks and punts. Does anyone know if/how he plays as a gunner? Would still sign Slater. Our coverage was great this year but our return seemed to lack explosiveness.
RB I'm fine with what we have (if Benny is resigned). Ridley seemed to have some explosiveness. He needs to work on ball safety and blitz pick up. Him and Benny splitting carries as first and second down backs with Vereen and Woddy competing for the 3rd down back role is good depth.
Center. I'd like to see them go for Jeff Saturday or draft someone and have them compete with Connelly.
Safety. Dashon Goldson. Stability is desperately needed back there. Chung is OK. But can he stay healthy? Would take a flyer on Laron Landry if his Achiles checks out OK.
CB. Anyone that would keep Molden, Sylvestro and Adams off the roster. I hope they don't put all their eggs on the Ras-I and McCourty basket again.
DL. Mario Williams. Go big or go home. He is worth the money and the picks you would have to give up to acquire him. He would never come off the field in this defense. I'm sure he would never get off the field in any defense.

Pierre Garson will not come that cheap...he is much better than regarded a number Two who is alot closer to a number one, i would make him a reasonable offer. The Colts have another WR who will be a steal for someone if he can ever stay healthy...Anthony Gonzalez, cannot stay healthy to save his life but "IF" he ever stays healthy he's a guy that could give us 800-900 yards easily. My Top choics are as follows.

1) Vincent Jackson = True # 1.

2) Dwayne Bowe = True # 1.

2) Pierre Garson = Read above

3)Robert Meacham = A Two who is closer to a 1 would love to see him with Brady.

Guys lets give Nick Caserio a chance with Drafting a WR, Pioli was the one who couldn't do it consistently. Caserio hasn't taken a WR in the Second Round yet...i am going to reserve judgement until he does. Nick Caserio has already hit on Two TE's and last year he too Two RB's who look ok. Now i think in 2012 he takes Two WR's...one of these year the Patriot organization will get it right at WR.

I vote Lloyd because he's played in a McDaniel's system and has had success.

No to Garcon / Bowe and Meachem

Assuming we could afford them I'd like both Lloyd and Garcon. Welker would obviously be a priority before those two, if it came down to it I'd rather have Welker and Garcon if getting Lloyd means we can't keep Welker.

Re-sign wide receiver Wes Welker
Sign wide receiver Brandon Lloyd

1st Round Draft Pick (from New Orleans) - 3-4 Defensive End or 3-4 Outside Linebacker
1st Round Draft Pick - 3-4 Defensive End or 3-4 Outside Linebacker
2nd Round Draft Pick (from Oakland) - Cornerback or Free Safety or Wide Receiver
2nd Round Draft Pick - Cornerback or Free Safety or Wide Receiver
3rd Round Draft Pick - Center
4th Round Draft Pick - Cornerback or Free Safety or Wide Receiver
