Maybe it's just me, but I don't give a rats behind of how the national media views the Patriots legacy, or Brady's legacy....if Brady will go down as all time best QB, ect. I just care about winning championships each year. My personal enjoyment is watching my team all year and seeing them win a SB. It seems like too many fans are so concerned about how the Patriots are perceived nationally and their legacy.

So? Ignore the talk.

that's the point....that's all the media talked about the last 2 weeks. You didn't get game analysis, just legacy talk,

When they talk legacy stuff turn to another station and check back in later.

I don't know why anyone pays attention to the media anymore. This morning, my dad calls me, livid, and asks me to call into a sports radio station to tell off a caller who was going on about Spygate.

While I'm honored that he views my verbal smackdowns as appropriately scathing, I just said, "WHY ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO THIS."

I just want BB and Brady to shut them the hell up for good. One more ring would do it. Plus, 6 SB appearances and 4 rings would pretty much make them the GOAT at their positions.

There are a few good shows that break down the games well, but I agree that most of it is talking head garbage.

Their legacy is cemented regardless. We are a very reactive society, very what have you done for me lately, it's too bad the SB wins and losses couldn't have been reversed.

They have appeared in five Superbowls together. And it could have been six. A 16-0 season on top of it. And people are worrled about legacies?

This is post Superbowl blues. Nothing more.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Why do you care what they think....and why is it important for you to have Brady and BB be GOAT?..I don't care how Brady or BB go down in history..why would I?..I just want my favorite teams to win championships. Where those 2 men stand in history is just a by product of championships, yet that seems to be the focus of so many(even among Pats fans)....why?

I feel the same as you but you'll see when all is said and done these two will go down as the best ever. The story hasnt ended yet, they could end up going to the big game a couple more times and winning.

Just like the endless back and forth over the years between Brady and Peyton of who is the greatest QB of their generation, the media are going to overreact to what happens in the moment. How many times did we go through "The debate is over: Peyton Manning is definitely better than Tom Brady" only to be followed the next year with "The debate is over: Tom Brady is definitely better than Peyton Manning"?

Immediately after Elway retired after back to back championships, the talk was that he was the greatest of all time. Twelve years later, he isn't even in the conversation on the debate of whether Brady is the best QB in NFL history. In fact, now the spin is he couldn't win a Super Bowl without Terrell Davis.

Right now the spin will be that this loss tarnished Brady's legacy. Two years from now, the storyline will be completely different.

The GOAT part is just an added bonus for me. It's not as important, but wouldn't be special to have them go down as THE best?

As far as why I care what others think, it's just a personal flaw I guess. I cannot stand credit being taken away from what this team accomplished, in any way.

The chances of me caring what Marshall Faulk, Trey Wingo or Jim Rome think about the "Patriots Legacy" are at ZERO, and I don't see them rising any time soon.

There are 3 Lombardi's sitting in The Hall at Patriot Place. They are from years 2001, 2003, and 2004. No amount of hater BS, whiny complaining fans, or paid opinion givers can change that, tarnish that, or take that away.

But someone would always try to take it away. If they won five, the hater spin would be "well, you can't count the first three, Spygate,"

It'll always be something. It's like me, I have been bashing the Giants as a bunch of horseshoed bastards all day. I won't ever give them credit, ever. I am too biased and I hate them too much.

The same public who that reviles the Patriots more than any other sports team in the US... yeah, you aren't going to get an objective opinion no matter what.

Would it have been better for BB/Brady if they'd just lost the AFCCG? According to many, it would. I think we know enough about their reasoning skills to stop listening right there.

BB/Brady aren't done. If they win another one, it will just make it all the more impressive, considering all of the "death losses" they've received, many of which would destroy careers of weaker minds. I don't think they'll care about this one come September. The heartbreaking losses have just piled up to the point they're hard to keep track of.

Yep. Nobody should care. Unfortunately everybody does, because the NFL isn't about just football. It's about entertainment too.

But yeah I think the media has become a little too obsessed with Hall of Famers and trying to label players as such before they ever actually finish their careers. The Hall of Fame is for retired players.

I can't think of another player(other than maybe Peyton) who is held to such high standards while they are still playing. What if Brady is just a really great QB and not the greatest of all time? What if he's just the greatest Patriots of all time? Does he suck then?

If it really is all about championships than what kills me is that a guy who has played in 50% of all Super Bowls in the last 10 years is still being measured to other quarterbacks. Should Manning ever even be mentioned in the same breath as Brady? Shouldn't he be seen as a total failure for only winning one and losing his 2nd?

I'm sure they would, but if we had a ring or 2 post-spygate, it would destroy their dumb*** theories much further. Right now it's purely a subjective argument but getting back to the promised land makes it alot more objective.
