People need to get over that ******* drop. Yes it killed us but WW is still one of the best players on our team and he won't cost nearly as much. Let him work the slot and get actual outside receivers to make life easier for him.

Let Ocho go, sign Lloyd, keep Branch as a backup and we're good.

I'm so sick of Brady having these little shrimp sized receivers to throw to. Branch is not the same player he used to be. Patriots need to keep Welker and the TEs and get 2 guys that can stretch the field. Eli and Flacco have way better WRs than Brady does. What's a guy that catches the most passes in the NFL regular season when he can't catch one on the most critical drive in the game? Giants got so lucky but congrats to them for their run.

Welker won't be cheap, so its not just an overreaction to the drop. Should the pats drop 7+ mil a year on a 31 year old slot WR, or spend 2 mil a year more on a stud?

Wes Welker is a stud.

But he has to make that catch.

Easy answer...drop welker because he comes up small. If you're stuck with declining Brady, they must get rid of Branch, Welker and Ocho.

The stupid is out in force tonight.

they could not run the football vs a 4 man front and we are talking about WR's ?

The Pats need to get better on defense, they needs some DE or OLB, the team needs to stop counting on Brady to win games.

This is it. Brady will be 35, let Welker walk, and either go balls to the wall in the draft if Blackmon were to fall to 8, or sign a stud FA, whos out there!

So mad...

Blackmon is going to go to the Rams after they trade down to the browns for 2 1st rounders imo.

I say resign Welker, See if Ocho will restructure to like 1 mill a year, possibly sign Lloyd, and lose branch and pickup a tall strong reciever in FA who can shove those dbs

Edit: And let's see what it would take in a trade for Steven Jackson

Well, this is an amazing Super Bowl win for the "the Pats are doomed without a deep threat" crowd.

Let Welker go?!? Are people daft? Franchise him and franchise him the first second of the franchise period.

The reason the Pats lost was in large part that Gronk was not effective and the Pats could double Hernandez and Welker all game.

Odds are good the Pats add Brandon Lloyd this offseason because he wants to play for McDaniels, but the Pats were 13-3 and one minute away from winning the Super Bowl.

resign Wes Welker, sign Brandon Lloyd, draft Kendall Wright. that's what I would do.

oh, and release Ochocinco. sorry Ocho... just business

Completely agree. If a younger Brady can't win the big game in the last 8 years, a 35 year old Brady won't have a better chance.

Time to spend some money and draft picks and make this a defensive team. Having 2 picks in the first round, 2 picks in the second round, and 2 picks in the third round last year, and coming up with 1 complete game from Ras IR Dowling is not gonna cut it.

This would probably be the best choice and what I will want after the anger from tonight subsides.

Wes Welker will come cheaper than some Vincent Jackson and i'll tell you right now who i'd rather have going into next season.

It's #83.

Why make the loss worse by compounding it with stupid offseason moves like getting rid of Welker?

Re-sign Welker
Sign Lloyd
Draft a receiver in rounds 1 or 2, either a burner or a Branch replacement
Bring Branch back with the understanding that he might be a backup
Keep Edelman as the team's Swiss army knife
Bring in others to compete with for the 5th/6th spot(s)

Also, get Hernandez in front of a Juggs gun every day.

You would think BB would have learnt a lesson or two watching the Elway era ?

As for draft picks, who know. right now this is another blown opportunity and the window is closing fast.

This mentality of never drafting to add or keep our playmakers on defense has not worked since 2005...one attempt was Adalius and that was a disaster.

The Chad Ochostinko era is finally over! Thank God!

A complete waste of a fifth round draft pick and millions of dollars of guaranteed money.

It wasn't just welker. It was also Branch and Hern. I think that we just sucked in the last min.

Yes, lets forget about the philosophy that has gotten the Pats to the Championship 5 times in 10 years. Let's have them become the Detroit Lions and just grab the best WR available and hope it works out..
