That's the problem: making the Super Bowl means there's a chance you'll lose it.

But, of course, not making it means there's no chance of winning.

I see this season as successful. I guess I'm a glass half-full kind of guy.

The Pats got the playoff losing streak monkey off their back. They have a very young team that's headed in the right direction. They made it to the Super Bowl and lost by 4 points to a hell of a football team.

I think about 28 other teams in the NFL would like to switch places with the Pats right now. :)

pathetic loss once again..No toughness when it counts..The Ravens would have won this game..

if you're gonna lose, lose in the big game. it's a tough loss of course. but going one and done in the playoffs is a complete embarrassment.

Yeah, the Ravens who couldn't win the game before this won definitely would have won this one...

We had our chances, this could very easily have been our victory party. It was a close game between two of the best teams in football, and unfortunately it didn't work out for us. But you have to give credit to their team, not to the fricken Ravens.

would have rather lost to the ravens

You gotta be in it to win it

Never thought this team would make it all the way to the SB this year. Thought they would have been knocked off by Ravens.

Rebuilding year...rookie RT, CB, ...injuries to Koppen, Ras-I, Vollmer, ..

McCourty playing like crap early......patchwork defensive backfield...

I look forward to an even stronger team next season !

To me losing the SB is the second best outcome for the season.

This is stupid. What is this town soccer where everyone gets a ribbon??

No, but they ~do~ get an AFC Champion banner. 30 other teams got a steaming cup of Jack Squat.

No, it's just reality. This isn't Madden where you can re-set the game a bunch of times when things don't go your way, or you can find the loophole so your play always works.

It's really hard to win a football game, whether it's week 3 against the Bills or the Superbowl against the Giants.

We got off to a bad start. We fought back. We persevered. We had our chances. They made a few more plays than we did at the end.

It was a close game, and we certainly had our chances. Doesn't mean the team is complete crap or they should be blown up or HOFers are awful or we should not sign All Pros or any other stupid conclusions you trolls can come up with.

In 2, 3 ,4 years are people going remember who the "AFC Champion" was??
Of course not

As a team, making the SB. Gotta make the SB to win it. As a fan, though, losing the SB is a heavier gut punch than not making it, by far.

So because he has a different point of view than you, that makes him a troll? Great logic there chief.

It's an interesting question.

On one hand I'm completely devastated by coming so close to the prize. It's like whiskey d### with a supermodel waiting in your bed.

But there is some small solace in getting there (with all our warts) and giving them a good game.

Most of the country is enjoying our misery right now and I refuse to give them the satisfaction. My entire neighborhood was cheering when the Giants scored that last TD. You would think the Lakers were playing.

It's just a game and I have to go to work tomorrow either way...

only the Colts hang banners for that.

We get the Lamar Hunt trophy.

Of course it's better to be AFC champs than to be less than AFC champs

Listen;
My daughter is out of it now but for years, she played on a very high level of soccer, both club and college where "giving it your best effor"t was BS. You either won or you went home..no excuses. That was her motto starting at age 12. .. what's the problem now with ah professionals?

Everyone loses sometimes. People who learn to lose and move on while those who can’t handle it crash and burn in life. The only way not to lose is to not play.
