Little bored..getting to Sunday seems forever. Lets put up whos got the best set of every position of NFL..starters mostly IN THE PLAYOFFS

QB : Patriots - Best QB and a pretty good #2 guy

RB: Chargers - best duo in NFL with LT and Turner aswell as Neil whos the blocker

TE: Patriots - Watson/Graham/Thomas are the best group in playoffs..dont get on me about Gates/Heap because they are better but whos their 2nd?

OL: Colts - the have the best OL in playoffs..simple as that

WR: Colts - maybe the best duo in NFL period. By far the best in playoffs

DL: Patriots - the big 3 we have are very good with 2 really good backups in Wright and Green

LB: Ravens - Scott-Lewis-Thomas..thats a crazy trio..speed and athletism

DB: Ravens - 2 Pro Bowlers back there with a great young rookie in Dawan Landry. Their weak link is Samari Rolle whos having a down year.

Agree? Post your own. Its not by who has the best 1 player in their whole thing..like @ TE. Would you take 1 great TE over 3 good TEs: 1 who is a freak, 1 who blocks like a beast and 1 owner of Wendy's whos got great hands and is improving?

I would agree with Colts best WR's except the post-season statement. Harrison disappears and has 2 total postseason TD's.

hard to disagree with that. The only thing that leaps out is that I'd rather have Arizona's WRs. SD's LB's are hard to argue with, but Baltimore is certainly more consistently better, all 3 guys.

On average, I expect more production from SD's TE position than from NE's. It is not a matter of who has the best #2 or #3, it is about total production from the position.

I would take one great TE in a heartbeat.

Pardon me if I thought of something totally different when I saw "best set of..."

:cool3:

Brandon Manumaleuna is Gates' number two and he's a Daniel Graham level blocker. Not nearly the receiver Graham is however. Their third guy right now is some stiff named Ryan Krause, but that's because Aaron Shea is on the IR. He's a solid TE but is injured a lot. Sound like anybody we know? Because Gates is so good - so so good - I think it is debatable whether the Chargers or the Pats have the best set of TEs.

I forgive you for not knowing who the other Charger TE is. But looking at the overall numbers, the Chargers have the best TE combo (Gates and Manumaleuna). Manu has been a huge addition for us. He is an excellent blocker with great hands (3 TD) and good YAC. Yet another weapon for BB to worry about. Watch for Manumaleuna tomorrow. He wears number 86, and you'll see him lined up as an extra OL, and occasionally in the backfield.

Charger TEs: 1015 yds, 12 TDs, 0 fumbles
Patriot TEs: 1037 yds, 6 TDs, 4 fumbles

I think when you factor in the fumbles there is no debate, especially since your primary receiving TE had 3 of those 4 fumbles. Chargers win hands down.

because Gates is their go to guy when we spread it around way more? im sure if we had plays going to Watson and make him as a main receiver about every down that he can be as good. All 3 of our guys are bigger receiving threats than anyone on Chargers but Gate. I said set..not 1 guy doing all the work making u the best set of TE in the playoffs.

Gates > Watson
Graham > Manumala(spelling)
Thomas > Krause

Gates and Watson are both fast and strong TEs..Gates clearly being better. Graham is a better blocker or maybe to please u..just as good of a blocker as the top blocking TE in the league...hes an underrated receiver as well. Thomas showed great hands when he got a shot and has improved as a blocker.

i like Gates but this isnt "the best [insert 1 position player]"

if it was best TE in playoffs it would be Gates - Heap - Clark - Watson probably..

Have to disagree with the QB "best set". Brady is the best, yep, but Cassel is unproven. I think there's a little bit of "homerism" in that one.

Based on what i have seen so far, have to go with McNabb and Garcia on that one.

is McNabb playing? No..people on IR dont count. should of stated it. my bad

Please refrain from starting a thread with the title..."The best set of......"

I came into this thread expecting some very titilating results...and, of course, was disappointed. :D

Not just you ,NEM, but many of us. We're a bunch of boobs. :(
