As much as I can't stand him, it's difficult to argue with the choice.

Terrell Suggs is NFL's Defensive Player of the Year - BostonHerald.com

The award caps the finest season of Suggs’ nine-year career. He led the AFC with a career-high 14 sacks and set a franchise-record with seven forced fumbles. A standout on the NFL’s third-ranked defense, he also tied career highs with six passes defended and two interceptions.

Suggs was especially dominant in three games, with nine total sacks and five forced fumbles in victories over the Pittsburgh Steelers (Sept. 11), San Francisco 49ers (Nov. 24) and Indianapolis Colts (Dec. 11).

I think he deserved it too. Btw, I do not remember his name even being mentioned in the AFC championship game. This offensive line is so much better than it was 4 years ago.

I think its an appropriate choice but i could make an argument for Jerad Allen too.

eitherway i think its a good choice, great player. skip bayless must be mad.

J.Allen and Smith was probably the MVP of that 49ers defense...he also beasted in the playoffs.

What did Suggs do in the two games against Houston and NE ?

the award is for the regular season only.

the award is for the regular season only.

true but allen almost set the sack record and smith was the mvp on the best D in the NFL. i'd take both of those guys over suggs. And after the playoffs where only Suggs mouth showed up that rings true even more for me.

And Patsfans should care about this on the morning of February 5, 2012 because...???

All the crap about his 40 time back in 2003 seems pretty stupid now. I think I recall there was pretty solid talk of him going top 3 until he ran a 4.8-4.9. Just shows you how pointless 40 times are.

Oh.... I remember seeing him. Perhaps THIS will refresh your recollection. :D
