In 85 & 96, do not remember anxiety, more excited than anything else.

Remember the first superbowl in '01, spent the day thinking about how was Brady doing and how was he handling the pressure. Later learned that he fell asleep on a bench in the locker room listening to his IPOD. All my anxiety for nothing.

The last Pats Superbowl I was in NOLA for Mardi Gras, and the folks I was with set up a TV on the median on Napolean St. as the parades went by, which was an incredible experience to watch the game with random people all over the country. But underneath my normal calm exterior, was a bundle of nerves that were brought to the edge with that finish.

Every superbowl spend some time on wondering how the young'uns on our team are doing, can they focus.. worry about Spikes a lot as he seems very distractable and seems to have focus issues.

Today I wake up @ 5:00 AM and the first thing that comes to mind is the Offensive Line and maybe this is the best that we have seen in this era. Trying to free my mind and get distracted, but am about as tight as a drum.

At 6:00 PM will sit down with my wife and grandson, devoid of any people, booze and distraction and stay glued to TV for the duration.. this victory cannot come soon enough.

It is now 11.5 hours until the game starts, but who is counting. Need to stay very busy.. until then.

I think everyone needs to take a page from BB and the Patriots this week. RELAX.

I think everyone needs to take a page from BB and the Patriots this week. RELAX.

Like BB, I am oddly calm. Maybe I know something I haven't told myself yet, or maybe my nerves are on overload and I have blown a fuse and am now incapable of anxiety or any other emotion. I really do think the Patriots will win, but I intend to dvr the game in case it gets too terrifying.

Well, my gameday routine has definitely gotten underway.

Got up and made coffee & breakfast, checked PatsFans for the overnight threads, comments, etc. Now it's off to shower & shave and get my Patriots T-shirt on. Each year, I have one garment ( a jersey, t-shirt, etc, that I buy for that year and wear it every game. Yes, I wash it in between games.

I'll then go down and arrange the shrine and make any last minute preparations, then it's kick back and watch a movie on NetFlix, listen to music, etc. Around 5PM I'll make supper for my son & daughter, then settle down and watch the lead-in to the game and then the game itself.

I'm also much more calm than I have been all year. More so than for any other Superbowl. I, too, think it bodes well for New England and look forward to seeing the 4th Lombardi brought back to Gillette.

GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm very nervous already. I've been awake for the past four and a half hours and it's going to be a looooooong night.

I'm pretty calm right now....pissed at the clock more than anything. The vibe from NE the past 2 weeks has been very reassuring.

He's the second coolest...right after the King of Cool, Steve McQueen.

Hardly.

McQueen was very cool, indeed...but he pursued coolness.

Newman never pursued coolness.

Coolness...came to him.

In all fairness...I'm sure we can agree that there's plenty of room for both those cats at the top.

A little nervous, but nothing major. The one thing I think I've learned from watching the Pats all these years is how incredibly lucky we are as fans. I always resigned myself just to be happy after just making the Superbowl in 85 and 96. After the 1st title, I thought that's all I needed, anything else would be gravy after that. Then we saw a dynasty born and I became downright selfish and wanted more. Losing to the Colts in the AFCCG and then the Giants in '07 was like someone punched me in the gut repeatedly. I really started to believe that the Brady & BB magic was done and they wouldn't sniff it again. Low and behold....here we are again and I've seen the Pats win 3 and lose 3. I have all the emotions of those 6 SB's served up in an emotional quesadilla right about now and I feel relatively calm. Think I might take the dog for a walk, go to the gym, maybe take a nap. After all that self-reflection and Zen talk, I'll wake up and come 6 o'clock I'll probably be frothing at the mouth. Oh well, things could be worse....much worse. At least I'm not a Jets fan.:D

Well, you know, any time as a fan that your team is playing in the Super Bowl it's special, and I'm not going to say it's just like any other game. Tom's been a very special quarterback for a long time, and that doesn't take away from the team we're facing. Of all, out of all the teams we've seen they're probably the most complete team, Eli's obviously playing at a very high level at this point and it goes on from there. Justin Tuck is a very special talent, Ahmad Bradshaw is a tremendously talented back, Brandon Jacobs, you know, Brandon is just as tough as any big back in this game. You go right down the line, Jason Pierre Paul is the most French sounding linebacker to line up in this league since Gastineau. They're a very special team, and they're playing at a very high level. That said every game turns on three or four important plays, and we do our best to be in the best position to capitalize on those three or four plays, and we as fans hope that we'll come up on the right side of those. Any time, as a, as an NFL fan, you get this opportunity it's a special thing, and you want to savor that and enjoy it, but in the end it's a football game. Do we belong to be here? We had some plays, you know, some great plays, and then we had some plays that as fans, we want to have back, and we're just fortunate we had, you know, any time you're a fan and there's a game on the line, you want to have more of those good plays than the other kind, and at the end of the day, you know, that team is the team that wins.

It is what it is.

not slept well the last two nights...long long day...game will start at 00,30 in Europe...long long night too... I BELIEVE-GO PATS !

Glad there's a Bruin game on early afternoon.

I feel ok, but I've already been accused of being very "Fidgity" sic* this morning, even my dog got me up earlier than usual, now that poor girl goes thru a vast amount of emotions during the games. LOL, she feeds off of my emotions.
So today I got her a nice big beef marrow bone to chew on during the game, and me? Food and some sipping whiskey.
I'm hoping to get in a nap this afternoon, yea, like that's going to happen.
GO PATS!

Just walked my dog for about an hour and now will go to the gym for another two. Come back and play some MW3. Backyard chores can wait, and same with inside chores. I gotta kill time. My wife understands...

I'll watch the Notebook early.
Then I'll head butt my wife a couple of time and that will calm me down.

Man, I feel good. My 3 mile run went very well, my iPod played all the songs I associate with this season (Good Feeling, Party Rock Anthem, This Is Our House, Can't Stop), and my younger son who is not really into football asked to wear Patriots clothes this morning.

I feel good. And I think tonight will go very well!
