OT: Brees gets hosed in the MVP voting

Rodgers definitely deserved it. Don't know why you think he wouldn't.

Obviously

Because putting up ridiculous stats as the Packers QB is hard. Which is why nobody but Rodgers could ever throw for multiple TD's, or rack up large amounts of yards.

I don't mind Rodgers winning it, but it shouldn't have been so lopsided.

Who cares, they're both sitting at home.

I'm tired of the MVP award. It's almost always a quarterback. Has a defensive player ever won? Ray Lewis, maybe?

Rodgers and Brees can have their consolation prizes. Tomorrow Brady is going to win another ring..

What about Brady not One vote

Why is it a joke? Nobody could touch Aaron this year when it comes to overall QB passing efficiency.

Brees got a lot of yards and a good completion %, but he just didn't compare in terms of interception %. As it turns out that happens to be very important. More important than yards. And the NFL knows it.

Well deserved. And I'm glad to see players are still getting rewarded based on true performance, not perceived performance.

Have you taken a look at Brees' indoor/outdoor splits? Look in the dictionary at "Dome QB" and you'll see his jersey. Definitely Rodgers' award.

I thought Rodgers easily deserved it. He was lights out this year on a team that went 15-1, and unlike Brees he did it in cold weather.

But its not a percentage vote.
Its 50 people making 1 vote each. I think it is totally reasonable that almost every one of them have Rodgers ahead even if only by a small margin.
The vote count doesnt indicate at all how close the voters thought the 2nd choice was to the first.

Except for Matt Flynn

THAT is your argument? His backup played well in the game he sat out?
The award is about how the players played. Rodgers played better.

Why? Rodgers put up a ridiculous season. I don't and can't see an issue with him receiving that many first place votes.

Brady still the only unanimous MVP :) and hopefully tomorrow he becomes 3 time Sb MVP :D don't leak this out to the Ny tabloids for saying hopefully

By the way, when did I say it was because of stats?

Oh is there some other measure used for selecting who the MVP is?

His play and that of his team.
The best stats and the best play is not the same thing.
