how many draft picks did the patriots trade or use to acquire the three or four other players that have filled in the defensive backfield this year? apparently nobody wanted them either and they were actually healthy.

if Bodden had not been put on IR, it's possible he could be playing by now. They do it every year whether it be Wright or Vollmer or remember the last good years for Eugene Wilson.

He's not on IR, he's not on a roster for ANY team because he isn't healthy. If he was healthy we could sign him right now. He isn't. And we won't.

yes i guess you a right.

two years ago he was the team's best corner and got a monster contract relative to what BB usually dishes out. very surprising.

You cannot predict that he will be injured in camp after signing the contract and miss the season, then get injured again the next season.
The decision to sign him wasn't suprising, the fact that his health abandoned him right after is.

Bodden wasn't placed on IR, he was released. Bodden underwent surgery later, but he was released reportedly because of a combination of being unable to run and move like a corner (probably due to the injury) and because of a bad attitude.
In any event, he required surgery so he couldn't be playing now.

if only they had one more semi-solid type of CB, someone who might be over paid but who cares - the money is going unusued and you're under the cap - someone like..... leigh bodden

Who the hell is this BB guy anyway. Can't we get someone better in evaluating players. I don't care that the Patriots are in the Superbowl for the fifth time in eleven years. That means nothing!

I think the Giants should be focusing like a laser on facing Edelman as a DB and Solder as a pass-catching TE. I also hope they've devoted at least one practice to stopping Shane Vereen.

I also think it would be negligent if their special teams didn't practice defending the Patrick Chung fake punt play.

Is there a way I can like this twice? :D
