I get tired of hearing stats/statistics that go on and on and on and on for and against the Patriots - For and Against the Chargers - guys say "Patriots are good in this" - "Chargers are lousy at that" because this is what they did then or this is what happened back then-WHO REALLY CARES?

Yes we have 2 very talented teams facing each other on Sunday Afternoon - 2 Teams capable of winning on any given sunday and obviously the best team on THIS SUNDAY will win this game.

I really don't care if San Diego's Pass Defense was bad at times nor do I care if Tom Brady is 11-1 in the playoffs,Its SUNDAYS game ONLY that will decide the productivity of teams and players.

BOTTOM LINE IS THE TEAM THAT PLAYS THE BEST IN MOST OR ALL PHASES OF THE GAME ON SUNDAY WILL BE GOING TO THE AFC DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - THE STATS OF THIS YEAR OR 5 YEARS AGO WILL NEVER BE 100% TRUE INDICATORS OF ANY OUTCOME - ALL PLAYERS ON BOTH TEAMS ARE CAPABLE OF BIG GAMES AT ANY TIME - SO HOW ABOUT PUTTING THE STATS BACK IN THE NOTEBOOK AND JUST ENJOY THE GAME -MAY THE BEST TEAM 'ON SUNDAY' WIN! (Excuse the caps, just used for effect:) )

Remember if past stats were 100% always correct and followed through then football prognosticators and bettors would just go by the stats and reap the rewards and bookies would be broke - Stats are just what you hope will happen,Most times don't exactly follow suit, thats why its no guarantee for example that Tomlinson gets 100+ yards nor does it mean Merrimen will sack Brady 1 or more times ect:.

LOL, yeah I'm being driven nuts waiting for this game too!

The stats indicate the game will happen sometime after saturday and most likely before monday.;)

I agree as well but let's be honest here.....what would there be to discuss if we all just said that no stats or past history were relevant and therefore not worth even discussing?

everyone could just sit in silence ????

You could discuss them at, you know, a Charger board ?

If stats is all we have to hope for in terms of winning this game - THATS SAD - How about talking about performances this year as individual players and some of the things they did to win or lose a game which is more realistic than just stats and holds up better as a conversation,You can have opinions about individual players but stats are just that STATS and individual opinons of players makes for more of a good post read-Would'nt you say?.

so you are saying that nobody here discusses stats or past history?
I guess you could look at the board and find out. There's plenty to be read. Too much from assshole Charger fans though.

Stats mean a lot. Sometimes a team is just good at something that the opponent isn't good at stopping. But, yeah, while I worry about a bunch of things regarding this matchup it's tough to look at regular season numbers and think you can read Sunday's book with them. If either team will transcend what they have shown in the regular season, history shows it's likely to be the Patriots.

I'm trying to somewhat agree with you guys but because I have a lightining bolt under my name you are refusing to hear it.

OF COURSE the game on Sunday is all that matters. Wow, a relevation. But all anyone can talk about leading up to a game is opinions and stats. Stats can only go so far, I agree....but try to make an opinion without them and you will inevitably be asked something like....."what do you have do base that on?"

from someone with over 9,000 posts I kind of expect a little more intelligence.

I do not mind discussing anything with Charger fans or any other fans of any other team under several conditions:

The 'out of town' poster remains true to points and leaves homie attitude back at his/her teams site.

Respect-Respect-Respect the posters who are at home and don't invade here with profanity or insults.

Give opinions that are not retarted or ridiculous like that one Charger idiot who posted earlier that Tomlinson would have 980 yards in this game - That boy and clown should be hung upside down on a rope by his nuts.

Other than that, any out of towner is welcome here IMO

Oh God, what a week it's been.

We should make it so that a new poster can't post for a week after signing up, that would end most of the crap of opponent trolls showing up on Monday and talking sh!t for the week.

I agree with everything you say. Fools are fools regardless of which team they root for and where they choose to post.

At least this guy did not say Michael turner will have 540 yards by halftime - There has got to be some intelligent life out there outside of Patriots Nation - Isn't there?

Well back to the point of your thread, I'm glad Brady will be making the critical throws for us and not them regardless of what happened in, say, Week 6.

check it out buddy......I don't choose to be a member of 32 NFL message boards and be a regular poster on each board all week. Yes, I signed up for your board this week to discuss this game. Win or lose on Sunday, I won't be back. If that bothers you then I'm sorry. You can search all my posts and I don't think I'm being obnoxious. If my presence alone is obxnious then that's your problem, not mine.

Based on your contributions to this thread . . .

Sometimes even my fellow Patriots fans can get retarted, its great to be a diehard fan but you can get some idiots on here that believe the Patriots can win every single game of every season - Including a season scenerio like where Brady and Seymour is on IR after the first week and We are left with Cassell as QB and Don Davis as our main pass rusher and still think we are SB bound - Sometimes that irks me as well as the trolls - I would love to the Pats go 16-0 every year, who doesn't - However some idiots truly beleive its possible no matter what circumstances exist.

Like I said its great to be a diehard to the death Patriots fan but you need reality checks too,I am proud of this team this year and did not think we would go as far as we have gone and win or lose I am a satisfied Patriots fan in 2006 regardless of the outcome sunday.
