Right now the Poll on ESPNs homepage is "Which team will win Super Bowl XLVI?"
of around 500K votes cast, exactly 50 percent of the Country roots for the Giants and the other half of the the Pats. A closer look at the map reveals that except New England and New york rest all states are split either 51%-49% or close to that .
Which is surprising to me as i thought majority of the ppl in this country hated the PATS.

BREAKING: Governor Declares Recount in Florida

You forget, much of the country hates NY and has for many, many years.

Heh -- gotta count those hanging Chads.

What's up with Colorado voting for the NFC team? They should know better. Maybe it's all a bunch of New Yorkers sitting at cafes in Aspen or Vail or something.

The balance will be tipped when all Antonio Cromartie kids make a vote for one side. :p

Next time, add the map like this OP:

Louisiana, Mississippi, and Indiana, as well as NY, like the G-men by a lot (Manning factor- home state of LA, college for Eli-MS, Manning's brother-IN)

All of New England except for Connecticut likes the Patriots by a lot

most everywhere else looks close

Of course Connecticut would be in red. Can we disown that state from New England already? (Apologies to loyal Pats fans from CT, of course)

I'd guess that the Indiana numbers are a lot more about "want to win" than "think will win".

I like the link better...You are able to mouse over each state to see actual votes and % for each team...

Thanks for the link ! :rocker:

Stupid Connecticut.

You have to realize something about Connecticut.

1. The Giants played their home games 2 seasons there in the 1970s.

2. Kraft tantalized the state with the Hartford move, and then when they returned to Foxboro (as they should have) it set back the building of the stadium for many years.

gtfo connecticut

I've said that for years... the Red Sox always do their "state days" during the course of the season (all the NE states get their own "day" for a day at Fenway), and I've always said Connecticut should only get half a day since half the state is Yankee fans.

It's pretty much the black sheep of the New England family of states. Being a Boston sports fan in Connecticut isn't much different than being a Boston sports fan in New York. The Connecticut Huskies celebrated their NCAA basketball championship at YANKEE STADIUM, ffs.
