Anyone see and hear Sterling's bash on the Pats secondary on the NFLN playbook segment?

He says the Pats secondary makes him think he can come back even now and make plays again.

Sterling Sharpe is 46 years old

Everyone else sees a different key to the game, but this matchup is certainly mine.

The secondary needs to get the job done, or at least limit them effectively. I can understand why most don't feel too confident about it, Sterling Sharpe included.

That will be the biggest key to the entire game, in my opinion. It's feast or famine with our secondary covering their WR's.

Hopefully the front and back ends play in cohesion with each other, which has happened more in the past few games; because we'll need them to step up to a big challenge.

I'd be willing to pay Sharpe to gather up 10 of his friends and attempt to make a play on our defense. I'd have Mayo waiting for him.

Sterling Sharpe is one of maybe 3 talking heads who said the pats will be in the SB befor the playoffs even started so he's not a patriot hater he just calls it as he sees it

He's one of my fav analysts. The guy is smart, he always explains his opinions and can break the film down very well. He's also as objective as anyone on TV. Playbook is pretty much the best Football show on TV.

That said, everyone is wrong once in a while... the secondary will do a good job. My confidence in them has been pretty good since Moore started getting more time. He's the key to that secondary I believe.

If our front end does it's job up front. The back will be fine. Eli will get his yards, but his points will be limited.

If there's a god out there, the giants must not WIN. i dont have anything against the giants but it will seem so unfair if they win with EVERYONE on their side excpet pats fans.

What's really interesting is the impact Chung has made in the secondary. There's a chart that shows the defense gives up only 7.7 yards per pass attempt with Chung compared to 9.8 without, and a TD every 25.5 passing attempts with Chung vs. every 10 attempts without.

I'm not saying our defense is the best in the league, but enough grief for a unit that gave up 58 points less than the vaunted Giants D in the regular season.

Does thsi a**clown realize that both the Pats "worst defense to ever step on to a professional football field" defense and the Giants "greatest pass rush ever" defense have the exact same passer rating against at 86.1.

Yeah. He's just going for the headline...and got it!

And one has to have been hidden in a drain pipe for the last two weeks not to know that there are two things the Giants will try to do Sunday: hit or pressure Brady and test the Pats Secondary.

If they succeed consistently at either one, it will be a long afternoon for us.

Well, it's not really rocket science. It doesn't take a genius to see that the possibly worst match up for us in this game is Giant Passing O and our secondary...... They will get yards on us.

I do think we can offset that some upfront against their weaker O-line.

Overstating it for dramatics..... But it's a valid concern headed into the game.

Same here. You can tell he was just saying that as a funny, I laughed when I heard it. It wasn't that bad but he doesnt bash the Pats like that for the most part. He gave praise to the defense turning the corner but mentioned that the secondary will have its hands full.... I agree with him totally.

What I guess I don't understand is why these professional commentators haven't updated their shpeil about the Pats D since it started playing noticeably better the past month.

Yes, anyone can criticize the pass D from the Indy game or the run D from the 1st qtr of the game at Denver, but what about the past month? Don't they realize that most fans understand it's a different Patriots defense now? It makes them look so uninformed.
