Could be nothing or maybe an indication of some friction between Osi and management...

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)

New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora has been fined $20,000 by the NFL for missing a mandatory Super Bowl media session Wednesday morning.

The NFL announced the fine less than two hours after the Giants wrapped up their 45-minute session.

Umenyiora was supposed to be sitting at a riser answering questions, but he never showed up.

The rest of the Giants players and coaches attended the session, four days before the NFL title game between the Giants and the New England Patriots.

Giants spokesman Pat Hanlon said Umenyiora was in meetings and will practice. He did not give a reason for Umenyiora's absence from the media session.

I'm getting stronger and stronger feelings that the giants are starting to take this game for granted.

For missing a 45 minute media session?

20K is nothing to Osi.

He is probably just saving his talk for Brady when he is sitting on his face.

There was alot of friction earlier in the season not having his current contract reworked.that can't be denied...Those type of issues can disrupt a clubhouse..Also hearing the this may be Brandod Jacobs last year with the club..

It's shows disrespect for the process.....bigger than the game kind of thing....and your retort making it about the money? I don't think you get it.

Methinks we are seeing the beginning threads showing that this upstart Giants team is starting to come a little unglued.

Rolle basically says that don't have to worry about the Pats TE.
Manningham and Cruz saying DB are no contest.
Osi now doesn't care about showing up to mandatory meetings.

Definitely has the sense that the Giants are buying into their hype.

Whatever ruffles the feathers up a little a bit...

The Giants fans are really as obnoxious as JETS fans and
the Giant players are also as obnoxious as the Jets players

He sounds sincere
“I misunderstood the schedule. It won’t happen again, and I will be at tomorrow’s media session and available after the game. I apologize for any inconvenience my absence this morning may have caused."

Giantsworld,
Let's get some predictions from you. We need liven up this chat.

Question #1:
Please ranke the following QB's 1) Peyton Manning 2) Eli Manning 3) Tom Brady 4) Tim Tebow

Question #2:
How many yards will Eli-te throw this week vs the worst (or arguably 2nd worst) defense in the NFL?

Question #3:
What do you have planned for your post-game celebration?
