I will admit that at the begining of the week I didn't feel very good about our chances againts the Chargers.

But as the week has progressed I have been feeling a lot better about the Patriots chances of leaving SD with a win. SD is a very good team and will be our biggest test so far this year. In fact, I think the winner of this game will go on and win the SB.

It's not over confidence that I'm feeling. It's not false "homer" hope either.

It's now Friday, are you feeling good about this game?

I have the same feeling that I had the last two times NE faced Pitt; anxiously anticpating with confident excitement, with a dash of worry.

I am genuinely worried. SD is and should be the favorite.

IF (and when) the pats win, I will once again be dazzled. No taking things for granted here.....

It's funny, last week I was confident all week that we would beat the Jets.

Then Saturday night when I went to bed I thought, Holy Crap we could lose to the Jets. I was a nervous wreck all Sunday until the game started.

This week I'm just the opposite. I figure if we go out there and play our best mistake free game, we will win. If we don't, then we just got beat by a better team.

I was nervous all week about the Jets. Felt the Pats could beat them, but I didn't want to think of what would happen if they lost to them. It would be like 2002 all over again. Then the weekend rolled by and I had a bunch of confidence. By game time I didn't think they would lose. Even when Cotchery caught the go-ahead TD, I knew the Patriots would answer.

For this game, I've been back-and-forth all week. Everyone outside of Patriots fans expect them to lose to the Chargers, so it's back to the underdog mentality. And really, that's how I like it. Right now I'm still nervous but optimistic.

I feel awfully good about this week. SD is a very good team but the Pats are angry and peaking at the right time, Brady has adjusted to the new WR's.

Can't wait for this game.

The SD talent is overrated on the D.

I have no problem with the Chargers being the favorites. They are at home, they had the best, overall record, etc....

But, IMO, throw all of that out the window...Sunday's game will not be won on PAST performance.

I have a very, very good feeling about the game, and it's outcome.

These are two very good teams and closer than people think. But in a battle of coaches I'd go with Belichick over Schottenheimer, especially in the playoffs. Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, Rich Gannon, Peyton Manning, and Steve McNair were all MVPs in their careers and all were stopped by the Patriots in the playoffs.

Do these guys look worried? hm.. What's their body language?

I'm feeling confident about the patriots. Actually, the only thing that even gives me slight pause is LT breaking two big runs.

Light is the one guy there that shouldn't be fooling around. We can't afford a revolving door at LT like we had against Miami.

I am still having trouble determining what my feeling is, if its good or bad. Either way, I am pretty nervous!

I am not a Pats or Charger fan, I fully expect Belichech to win the game, no one is better in the playoffs then Belli, I can not believe that Schotty will have his game plan or his team as prepared as the Pats will be.

But what do I know.

i am with you on that. its because of the expectations - had we lost to the jets, we would have been embarassed. should we lose to the dolts, it will lok like we lost to a great team.

all in all, i dont care about expectations. i just hate it when the season ends!!

Ouch, I do not think a Jets loss would of been embarsing. Think of it this way, The Jets are built to beat the Pats, Fish and Bills, and no other team is more familiar with the Pats strengths and weakness then the Jets, Jets played tough, but in the end, the more talented team one. The Pats played with more intensity and confidence and as the game wore on it payed off for the Pats.

There is no right or wrong answer. If this poll would have been up during the first part of the week, I would have answered that i honestly felt that the Chargers had too much talent overall to over come.

I'm sure that those Patriots fans who still honestly feel that way, will be just as elated when we win this Sunday as all the rest of us..:rocker:

Since 2002, the only good feelings I've had relating to the Playoffs have occured when the Commissioner handed the Lombardi to Kraft. If you're asking whether I'm optimistic about the outcome of Sunday's game, to be completely honest, I think we have a slightly better than 50% chance of winning a very close game. So, I'm nervous and anxious, but not as much of a wreck as I was last week when an unthinkable loss in the Playoffs to the Jests was a possible outcome of the weekend.

:singing:
I am feeling good. You can go 'round and 'round in circles, but we have a great team and we DEFINITELY have a chance. Any given sunay anything can happen, but I am feeling good about this one and I am going to stay that way until the time clock ends on Sunday....then we'll see, but I feel good.

We are playing the best team in the NFL. They have talent on both sides of the ball. Experts are suggesting that we might get blown out.

And yet somehow I have a gut feeling that this is going to be our best game in 2 years.

San Diego's excellent season will end Sunday night to the New England Patriots.

And everyone else in the league will be sheeting a brick.

I feel pretty much the same way. I think the Chargers are a bit overrated - they beat up on a weak division and a weak schedule, and the Pats are playing their best football right now.

The one thing that worries me is that we are facing a team coming off a bye and we have to fly across the country. Home teams coming off the bye historically win over 79% of the division round games.

I like the prognostication. This is going to be the best game of the year, and possibly of the entire play-offs. If I felt any better about this game, I'd get arrested. Just the sheer drama of the match-up: the dynasty vs. the upstart. Got to love that.

I feel more confident about this game than I did about the Jets... mainly because there is SO MUCH PRESSURE on SD (not to mention a rookie QB) not to lose otherwise their entire season will be a failure.

We're the underdogs here - and that's how I like it
