Tackle Sebastian Vollmer did practice. He said Vollmer had a cast removed after the Broncos game and that he was close to playing against the the Ravens. It’s a “possibility” Vollmer will be active and play against the Giants....The Patriots practiced in full pads once again Monday. They were in full pads last Thursday as well.

Sorta. I'm of the opinion that Vollmer at anything less than 100% isn't good enough. If he's 91% out there, Brady's gonna get killed.

If we can go three TEs with a healthy Vollmer at RT, Solder, Aaron, and GRONK anywhere above 80%, the Giants are going to get steamrolled by the surprise factors, BenJarvis Green-Ellis, Danny Woodhead, and (if trusted) Stevan Ridley. Personally I doubt that BB trusts Ridley, but he would do the most shredding.

Not that surprising considering he was never IR'd. I'm not sure what other game they'd have been saving him for.

Sounds like he is closer, although I think he also practiced in pads before the Ravens game. If he plays, he gives them another big experienced body at RT and Solder can kick outside to TE while Gronk carves up Grant.

i think the fact that OL holding has apparently been legal so far this playoffs bodes well for the pats since the Giants biggest strength is obviously that front 4.

I disagree that a Vollmer at less than 100% is ineffective too, him rotating in and keeping others fresh is good stuff

So is that it for full-pad practices this week? I believe I read somewhere that teams get an extra day of it for each week in the playoffs, but I could be wrong.

Anyway ... good news on Seabass. Looking forward to seeing how much he practiced. It's too bad we've had to basically forget how good a player he can be, and maybe we'll see some of that at just the right time.

The German press will be thrilled!

Alles ist ordnung!

We will need all the big guys we have ... the pace of that game will be unreal and they may suffer from exhaustion without a rotation - this is great news.

I hope Vollmer is healthy enough to pick things up and throw them around.

I think Vollmer is a bigger story than Gronk. He stunk up the place the last time we played the Giants, he gave up like 4 sacks. Now if he was hurt before that game or hurt during it who cares. But if he is healthy Solder can play TE and spell Gronk. I dont want the Fat Cannon out there trying to keep up with thier speed rushers! The domino effect doesnt begin with Gronk, it begins with Vollmer.

Great news.

Also, I kinda hope we run a TE screen to Solder. Might catch the Giants off guard.

Ok, you need to stop saying Vollmer give up 4 sacks, when there were only 2, and non by Vollmer.

I have to hnad it too you Jeff. You continue to be ignorant as always.

1) The Pats only gave up 2 sacks the last time they faced the Giants. Neither one was allowed by Vollmer.

2) Cannon has about 10% body fat. For a guy who is around 350lbs, that's not being fat. Not to mention that he's done fine against speed rushers. Or did you miss how he did against Cameron Wake?

Could you do everyone a favorite and keep your hate to yourself? Especially when you've been shown how ignorant you are..

Am I the only one who woke up at 2:00 am last night in an incoherent panic thinking "but if Gronk can't handle his usual blocking load they'll need Solder as an extra TE which would make Vollmer important and omg Vollmer better be ready and if he isn't why would they be keeping him on the roster at this point and will they have to activate zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"?

OK, maybe I am. But regardless, this is good news.

Only guy I've ever seen nail a Patriots draft is this biologist guy. Totally crushed the Spikes and Cunningham pucks. Ignorant? I say no.

Do you think if you repeat it in different threads it will make it true?

Vollmer's foot was reportedly in a cast which came off prior to the Broncos game, per Bedard tweet- was close to being able to play in the Ravens game but was a last minute scratch.

Jeff, STEP away from the contaminated agar....and come back into the world of reality. You are seem to be getting too much of your information from mediot nation. Here are the facts

Contrary to what you are hearing, in the game in the first Giant game, The Giants managed 2 sacks, 3 QB hits and 4 hurries. Very quietly the much maligned Pats defense managed no sacks but had 7 QB hits and 11 hurries.

So when you claim Volmer personally allowed 4 QB sacks, when the team allowed only 2, I can only surmise that you have been inhaling lab fumes for too long. ;)

BTW- I can't see Volmer getting a lot of snaps even if healthy. However he will be an asset If BB wants to go with the BIG OL with Solder at TE, or on running plays in regular formations as he is a more powerful blocker.
