These are indeed strange times we be livin' in...

Ron has had an epiphany. Says a Dynasty ain't over 'til it's over, and this one isn't over no matter what happens next Sunday...

This may be Bill's greatest victory...to date. :D

INDIANAPOLIS — Crow is probably not the healthiest of meals and arguably not the tastiest either, but sometimes it is well deserved. Today, as the NFL kicks off Super Bowl XLVI week, it seems an appropriate dining experience.

On Nov. 7, the Herald ran a lengthy obituary for the Patriots [team stats]’ long-running dynasty following their 24-20 loss to the team they will meet again Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Super Bowl XLVI, the New York Giants.

“Dynasties do not end in spectacular collapse or fiery conflagration. They end from the corrosive effect of winning, eaten bit by bit until the edge is no longer on your side of the line of scrimmage . . . That’s how the good old days become the good old days — one small mistake at a time until your edge is gone and what is left is one dogfight after another.

“That is who the Patriots are now. They are a team doing its best, but not always enough. They are not a dynasty any more. They are a team running with the pack: closer to the head of it than the rear but headed in the wrong direction.”

Thus inspired by yours truly, the Patriots didn’t lose another game. They won 10 straight to reach their fourth Super Bowl in the past 11 years under the direction of Tom Brady [stats], Bill Belichick and Bob Kraft, and I’m glad I could help.

While one can argue the merits of the Patriots dynasty over those of the Packers, Steelers, 49ers and Cowboys, with their return to Super Bowl XLVI there’s one thing you can’t argue: A dynasty ain’t over till it’s over. So, excuse me while I go broil the bird and wash down some crow with a bottle of cabernet from Drew Bledsoe’s Doubleback Winery.

Bon appetit!

Fifth SB, not fourth, but yeah. Eat it Borgie!

(I notice in the link it now says fourth in 10 years. Herald editor fail!)

Tremendous. Borges must have had a rare misty-eyed moment at his keyboard. We all knew, deep down, he was a homer.

That one phrase in there "...and I'm glad I could help," is an echo of Borges' egocentric self, as if he's had anything to do with the Patriots' success.

My guess is he's grateful to Bill Belichick and Bob Kraft for hiring him to operate the scoreboard so he could flicker the lights and toggle the down indicator when the opposing kicker is trying to figure out if he's on deck.

Why did my confidence just suddenly increase for sunday after reading that?

LOL I thought about putting that in the title but I hate to go there...

Nah, I think that was his attempt at you can't laugh at me because I'm laughing at myself so it's OK you're all laughing with me spin...

I think he's also sending a message that he'd love a hug and sitdown, but I'm not sure even jovial Bill is quite THERE yet... He and Tuna eventually buried the hatchet, but in that case it didn't have to be extracted from Bill's back first. This may be the extraction, we shall see... Would be nice if it happened since unless he croaks Borges is going to be the guy presenting Bill, Tommy and Robert for HOF induction over the next decade or so.

You can't bury the hatchet when one of you is always poised to use it on the back of the other. I wonder if Borges ate crow on TV. When I saw his ugly mug on the 11:00 news last night I immediately switched the channel. I am sure he is still hoping for a screw-up in the Superbowl so he can take back his premature meal.

Yeah i'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, Borges's Big But moment

Ronnie has sunk pretty low. Once a scribe with national appeal. Now he grades Pats games and acts as Felger's foil 30 seconds/night. I guess when you get shut out of Foxborough, what really can he add. He's watching games on TV like most of us. And with boxing down the tubes, he hasn't been able to assault any cripples lately. I guess he and Tomase sit around in a *********** and reminisce

What I want to know, from Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V, is what kind of fight did he see in the AFCCG? It must have been a pillow fight, since acording to him, thise are the only fights the Pats can win.

I wonder where he copied that from?

Last night he was on with Ryan and Felger rehashing spygate crap as if it were still relevant in the minds of Pats fans. Who else do they think is watching them? Steelers fans? They sounded like three prissy, self-righteous hens at a tea party gossiping about the town fluzie.

You beat me to it. Well said.

Borges' article is about as genuine as a pair of Hollywood tits.

I suspect he's been shut out of meaningful access to anything Patriot but an open press conference.

With the Tomass albatross permanently fused to the Horrald's neck and the only meaningful third party Patriot reporting coming out of the Globe and Reiss at ESPN, I suspect that that Dirt Rag "newspaper" is desperate to get into the game somehow this week.

It was surprising to see him admit he was wrong about anything, but Borges's ego tells him he deserves all of the credit, since in his mind he is the center of the universe:

"inspired by yours truly, the Patriots didn’t lose another game"

As if any Patriots player ever paid one iota of attention to any piece of drivel he ever wrote!

A little OT but in todays Portland Press the headline on the sports page said BB was "bubbly".

Bubbly? Bubbly? There's no "bubbly" in football. Must have been a female headline writer and she should be reassigned to the social pages.

Bubbly!!!

BB "bubbly"?

Iam wondering if he is using the "reverse jinx" formula so if the pats lose and he can pull out his real anti-bb column next week..

At first: OH MY GAWD!

Thought about it....

Don't trust it.

I was thinking the same thing.
