Dayum....... I was looking at a set of those yesterday, and wishing I could afford a pair. I seriously need a new set of headphones to finish up some recording I'm doing. My last set is dead, and the ear buds I have, which are nice and all, just won't cut it for this project. Sigh.

How is there a market for these things outside of super rich people?

Because some of them are seriously well-made with excellent sound damping and replication. If I could afford a set, I'd have them.

But, I've had to drop down several price levels in my search for a new set of headphones. That's just life.

I have been using Sony MDR-7506 for work and play for years. They can be had for $100. Highly recommended.

Uh-oh...is this like John Henry buying his team headphones before the September collapse?

400 bucks...just like anything else, ipods, iphones, new sneakers etc. You'd be surprised at all of the wanna be DJ's out there, and all of the word of mouth purchases that go along with what's hot. Some of us paid 400 for a ticket to last week's game, I don't see how it's any different.

As far as this story goes though, who really cares about Ochocinco's purchases? (not a shot at the OP, just stating that I am kinda tired of hearing about it everywhere)

He's got millions of dollars. Guys get fined for 15k, 20k all the time and it's no big deal. So he took some of one of his 2 playoff bonuses and bought some expensive presents..big effing deal.

Maybe he should be concentrating on finally trying to successfully help his teammates in the biggest stage of the yr.

how the hell do people not like this guy?

idc if he hasnt produced, hes a GREAT teammate, didnt he bring the entire team to a concert to?

Oh no, he's stupider than I thought! My audiophile sources tell me that Beats are very disappointing for their respective price ranges. They are decent headphones, but there are better headphones on the market for cheaper, and MUCH better headphones out there at the same price points. Same goes for Skull Candy, except those just aren't good headphones at any price point.

What kinds? I am kinda looking to get one of that price range, would need some suggestion right now, thanks!

Bet that he did not pay $400.00 a pair..

If your audiophile source is correct its the cachet to wear them. Take those Fugly Nike Air Jordans sneakers people were paying ridiculous amounts of money for, there are much better shoes for that price, but you're cool if you show up in a pair.

It's a ncie gesture to his teammates.
Would you rather he not talk to any of them?
Do you expect him to spend 24/7 on football? It's not like this took more than 30 minutes of his time -- maybe even less since he probably has someone who makes the purchases on his behalf.

Obviously everyone would rather Ocho have been a probowl WR, but for whatever reason that hasn't happenned; and its not for lack of effort -- lack of effort would've gotten him cut. Either his skills have diminished, or he's not a good strict route runner, or he can't understand the playbook -- all issues the team should've realized prior to signing him, and perhaps issues the team could've worked around -- if its a playbook issue, would it really hurt to have one guy who has a simplified, no route options, playbook?

Normally, a high priced guy like this who makes little contribution gets on my crap list.
Likeable guy.

Everyone surprised BB kept him around.
Makes us all think secret weapon.
