Secret weapon, Faulk?

If there's any secret weapon, who else could emerge? Sure, he might be done soon, but if he was done now, would he hang on and would BB eat up a roster spot?

Two weeks practice, I imagine plays could be inserted for one of those classic 4-5 play chain moving bursts in the middle of a game when the team bogs down.

I Like Woodhead, but he still seems to be a nice story that has settled into jagness.

Kevin Faulk could possibly be the best receiver out of the backfield ever, so what the hell?

...also, as good as anyone on the draw play and great blitz pickup.

I'll make you a bet he gets less than 8 snaps. Which is 8 snaps more than he got after the last 2 week game plan BOB dreamed up.

Sorry to poo poo your idea but I think Danny Woodhead is actually better than "jagness".....and if they need receivers out of the backfield, they have been known to use Welker and Hernandez before they use the sr citizen.

Faulk's done. I hate to say it, I was always one of his biggest supporters and stuck up for him during his fumbilitis era...but he's done.

Would love to see him snag another ring though! He';s been good in a leadership capacity by all accounts.

He is on active roster for three reasons 1) out of respect to him; 2) his leadership; and 3) as a reliable fall back on punt returns/special teams. He is by no means a secret weapon and a mediocre linebacker can cover him in space.

I highly doubt either side is going to move away from what has been successful in getting them to the Superbowl.

Chung is hardly unsung (rhyme) especially in that secondary. I'm talkimng about surprise snaps, Chung will likely have about 100%.

It's not like guys haven't come put of nowhere to make key plays in Super Bowls. J.R. Redmond would be a classic example. 3 reception in "the drive", little else ever.

Oh, man--I hate to even go here, but if I had to pick a player it may actually be Ocho; although on a very minor level.

I could envision some type of designed couple/few plays to get him the ball though, either that or at least a downfield shot.

Like I said--I hate to even bring it up, but stranger things have happened, and it's not 100% entirely out of the realm of possibility to consider giving him a look or two.

I'm still torn about the possibility of Ridley. Part of me thinks it may not be a bad idea, then part of me thinks theres no way in hell that BB takes that chance and messes with success with BJGE's ball security.

I do agree with you that there may indeed be a smaller/lesser known player that steps up and makes a key play though. That is very possible.

While I am extremely excited for this prospect next Sunday, I am also excited for the addition of a good, young draft pick next year too.

The thought of Pryor coming back, a solid young player in the top 2 rounds (it's going to happen this time...it has to ) and the thought of another year for guys like Love, Deaderick etc makes me salivate.

The DL has impressed me this yr, and obviously moreso of late.

Ridley, who is looking at a major role in the backfield next year, has served his time. Unlike Woodhead, against a light DL he along with BJGE can break tackles and get to the next level. I expect him back for the SB in place of Brace, who will struggle to make the team next year and has done nothing in the playoffs.

I think this may well be a contingency plan. The Giants may look to flood the middle of the field and take away the primary threat of Hernandez, Gronkowski and Welker forcing Brady to throw to the outside receivers who are not the primary threat. Ocho and Branch may have to step up to the challenge. Designing a few plays for them, IMO should be in the gameplan as a backup plan.

As far as secret weapon, that would have to be Edelman throwing the ball on a trick play. He has been a WR, RB, PR, KR, CB, blitzer. Just QB (and DE to go).

Faulk may be such a secret weapon that the Paatriots don't even know it.

I think the pats have had pretty good rushing YPA and should try to take control oft he game that way. Play action will be key to get those vital seconds Brady and his receivers need to get open.

i think Brady has to be more careful with the ball and not go for the quick hits and take whats available (even if that means throwing the ball out of bounds). No turnovers and we can grind out sustained drives, then it's less likely the Giants will have a great 4th quarter.
