Giants trending chatty.

Rumor Mill | ProFootballTalk

Osi Umenyiora

“I don’t know what it is that he does, but it’s something that he’s doing that really gets under my skin,” said Umenyiora on Friday via CSNNE.com. “Because I’m not that type of guy, you know what I mean? He’s probably the only person I’ve ever fought on a football field.”

Umenyiora stretched out his word so it sounded more like “reeeally.” That also means both Light and and Umenyiora can reeeally expect too many questions about the issue on Media Day.
“I think [Light is] more important to his team than I am to mine right now,” Osi said, “so if we can both fight, we both get kicked out and [Jean-Pierre Paul] and Tuck will have a field day.”
Osi also called Light a dirty player before the teams faced in the regular season game. Patriots veteran Kevin Faulk doesn’t appreciate it.

“He tried to pull the same thing the last time, so,” Faulk said of Umenyiora. “It ain’t relevant to us right now, we’re going to play football. Whatever he’s talking about, that’s bulls—.”

Nine days to go.

Patriots RB Kevin Faulk dismisses Osi Umenyiora's bad blood with Matt Light | NJ.com

So how doesnt that get a red flag by the NFL and Goodell? He basically said he would instigate Light into a fight for the purpuse of getting him thrown out of the game. Can you imagine if a Pats player said he was going to try to get Cruz or JPP kicked out of the game? It would be 24/7 ESPN news and there would be cries for Goodell to suspend the Pats player to avoid any such action.

So far the Gaints seem to be a bit cokcy. They more they talk the more I see this as a role reversal of SB42. The Giants are getting all the hype and the Pats will be the ones to smack them in the mouth.

I am down with that script.
Looks to be playing out.

Hopefully, Faulk's remarks will be the last.

A surprise to me from faulk. Not his first rodeo.
I do not recall ever hearing from him?
An indication they are getting tired of it?

Cripes, 9 days to go.
It is going to be a windy week, i would say.

The way things are going, Belichick is going to need a bulliten board for every single Patriot. Are the Giants trying to break a record in smack talk or something?

However, keep it up G-Men. This ain't 2007.

Not that I give a crap, cause the more they talk, the more of a fire it builds here, which can't possibly hurt the Pats chances (I hope!). What I'm puzzled by is what happened to "The Great Santini" Coughlin, I wouldn't think that someone who tries so hard to be thought of as "Mr. Discipline" would be OK with the mouthiness of his team ... unless he is OK with it. Also I'd love to know how ol' Tom figures this helps his team to win the game.

Also, Matt Light is far too intelligent to get involved in Osi's nonsense.

We're due to break the Giants. No team can hold back our offense forever.
I hope it's next sunday. I want an epic blow out immortalized in Superbowl history.

I hope they have to play a solid 30 minutes of football already knowing they have absolutely no chance.

I hate the Giants, like no other NFC team.
I absolutely hate them.

I wonder if it is things Matt says to him?
Not that Matt would do things like that.

Heh.

Clearly, Osi just took a shot at Vollmer and Solder saying they aren't good enough to stop Pierre-Paul. I'm fairly certain that they can if both are healthy.

And, I agree. The NFL needs to fine Osi for his BS talk saying he's going to try and get himself and Light thrown out of the game.

All this talk is non sense. It won't make a bit of difference. I am just wondering if that D line of the giants is going to be in the middle of .. ahem..a cycle come super bowl time. I can see these guys getting all juiced up on the good stuff.

The Giants are always crying about someone or something. "falcons are dirty", JPP "I guarantee a win","Matt Light is dirty". Honestly, behind the Jets and Baltimore, the Giants might be the most chatty team in the league.

We better beat the **** out of them. It's like how I felt during the SC, Vancouver doesnt deserve to win.

Haha..so funny. Wait a minute lets see. Its the Super Bowl and you think these guys are going to get "all juiced up" by the chatty Giants. This is the friggin SUPER BOWL..If the Patriots need to get "juiced up" by the talk then maybe they are not motivated enough. Seriously, the Giants talked before Green Bay..and won. Packer fans were all talking smack about how this will pump up the players...hmmm..no . San Fran fans were fired up that the Giants said they were glad to get them rather than N.O. ...they were pissed the fans were saying . Did it help ? uh....no.

This stuff means NOTHING. You can think it does but these guys are pros./...all of them, they are going on to that field fired up chatty talk or not. Players getting more fired up in the Super Bowl..... ya think?

If anything this stuff may tend to work the other way and get players off their game.

I think you guys are runnin scared. Not the N.E. players ...the fans

As long as New England has at least 1 more point on the board than the New Jersey Snookies do, that's all that matters to me.

Our team has, historically, let it's actions speak for them.

I look forward to New England's actions speaking louder than New Jersey's trash mouths.

Giants 7-1 in the last 8 playoff games...both these teams know how to walk the walk.

When you come right down to it, this team isn't any different than their trash-talking poor cousins, the Yets, the Jest or whatever. Coughlin can't control them. They look at him as an old man who just gets in the way of their yapping. They're no more afraid of him than the Jest are of Porky Pig.

Uhg, I am sick of the Giants players already...

I really hope the Patriots come to play with this in mind...

B/c this dude, does not abide...

New Yorkers...Giants and Jets deserve each other.

Keep the clips coming. I don't care what anyone says, this sh!t does motivate players. For me at least, the more someone disrespects me or underestimates me the more I want to make them eat their words. I'm tired of hearing how playing in the SuperBowl should be all the motivation a professional athlete needs. I say bullsh!t! Keep talking trash NY.

Jets fans, Giants fans - no difference. Jets players, Giants players - no difference. Hey, NJ yahoo, the fans don't count - the players do. NJ fans have had an inferiority complex when it comes to NE going back to the Celtics ***** slapping the ****s, I mean Knicks every time they felt like it and now even the beer-drinking/chicken eating Red Sox have more WS crowns than the Yankees since the turn of the century, who have become a national joke. Finally, ShEli had to get Daddy to help him get out of SD when he was afraid he'd end up there. What a little wuss. Papa's boy/Goober will be headed back to Mayberry soon in shame.
