Ugh, Felger keeps trolling on about Ocho making 6 mil "guaranteed" this year...

...and it's so annoying. Because isn't it untrue?

Ok, so I was under the impression the 6 million dollar base was from Cincy. I could have sworn that I read about how the Pats made him restructure; thus making it way, way lower. In my head, I remembered it as being, like, two-million and change against the cap....

I just Google'd it. I believe my memory served me well. Across the board it seems like all the articles point to Ocho having a 1 million dollar base; that was set to increase in '12 and '13. Now it gets a little different.... Some point to a 4.5 mil signing bonus being upfront, thus being 5.5 total for this year. Other articles claim the bonus is only 1.5 a year over the 3 years - thus 2.5 mil for '11. So am I misunderstanding? Or is it simply a situation where the signing bonus money itself is indeed upfront (and now in Ocho's pocket); but it only counts against the cap at 1.5 mil per year?

I don't care what he makes.

It makes no difference because, by all accounts, he tried his best it just didn't work out. If he had dogged it that would be different. It appears to have been a good faith effort by both sides with an unfortunate outcome.

Yeah. If they thought Ocho wasn't trying they would have bought him a seat next to Haynesworth on the bus out of town.

On Chad Ochocinco’s deal: The ex-Bengals WR used to have a 1-year deal worth $6 million. Now, he has an extension that runs through 2013, a $1 million salary this year and a signing bonus of $4.75 million.

He's been paid $5.75MM this year.

What ever he made over a practice squad player was too much.

I was under the impression he was away, and it hadn't been updated in some time.

AFAIC, it was a bad decision, but that's water under the bridge. With 20/20 hindsight, we can see there's no use crying over spilled milk. It was what it is. Time to let it go and let it be.

So did I use enough cliches to describe how I feel. :D

Yip.

Felger & Mazz are right on this one. What a waste. **** man, I'll show up and "try my best" for half of that Bill!!! Call me up bro!

The Patriots are going to the Super Bowl. At this point in time, why should anyone give a damn how much Johnson makes?

Well, it's more about Felger's annoying behavior than anything....

Mazz is so annoying.

Couldnt agree more, he really brings that show down a notch, Felger is at least entertaining although annoying at times, Mazz is just annoying.

That was not the main theme of the bashing. It came up after they read a quote by him that said this season (among other things) wasn't about the money. Their point was that he already got paid, so of course it wasnt.

I thought ocho played well when he was on the field, Great blocking, great team player...I bet he is back next year if branch is gone.
