Of all the obnoxious, nausiating, over the top stories ive seen this week this takes the cake.

Tom Brady is a "fraidy cat" Tom Fraidy Brady I hope TB reads this, it may not be directly from a Giants player but some have implied it.

Just call New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, who can be one nervous cat, Tom 'Fraidy' - NY Daily News

om Brady may be NFL royalty with three Super Bowl rings and his super model wife and the SoCal mansion big enough to have a sleepover with all his Patriots teammates, but sources say he is still human.

I spoke to an NFL assistant coach Thursday whose team did extensive film study of what the Jets did to Brady in their playoff victory last year. The coach’s report was startling for a future Hall of Famer who might be the second best quarterback in NFL history after Joe Montana.

The problem i have with these *** holes is that they'll disappear if and when the pats beat the Giants, they'll be nowhere to be found.

I know the plays the article is talking about, and Brady did start to go down expecting to be hit when nobody was even near him. However, while he did that against the NYGs in the Super bowl, the Ravens two years ago, and the Jets last year, he DOESN'T usually do that. Usually, he is so focused, and is cool and calm and simply slides, and completes the pass. The normal Tom Brady is the opposite of Fraidy Brady. If we get the "normal" Tom Brady in the Super Bowl, we will be fine.

1.) Much more hesitant to run

Did you not see those QB sneaks Brady has been running all post-season?

I'm not talking about QB sneaks. I'm talking about running from the pocket

I hope Brady retires soon. I can't believe his own so called fans are suggesting that the man is a coward.

Not one person in this thread has suggested that.

Brady doesn't get the credit he has earned for toughness, he never has and it has gotten much worse since his knee was blown out on an illegal hit. This seems to have given certain people an excuse to make unsupportable allegations about his toughness, such as saying he is somehow less tough since the knee injury, to rationalize their existing animosity towards him. It stands in contrast to the facts.

- In the 2009 - 2010 season, i.e., in the very first season following the one he lost due to the illegal hit on his knee, Brady played with fractured ribs and a broken finger on his throwing hand. I know this was confirmed in published reports.

- Also in the 2009 preseason, many people believe - I don't know if this was ever confirmed - that Haynesworth gave Brady a separated shoulder that he played with all that season.

- There is some speculation out there that he is currently playing with a separated shoulder.

In all this time, the only games he has missed were after the knee injury. So, I think the record shows that this guy has played through fairly significant injuries, multiple times, including after that knee injury.

Some posts in this thread have that tone, IMHO.

I hate the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. Kickoff can't come quickly enough.

Re: Just call New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, who can be one nervous cat, Tom 'Fra

I'm not talking about QB sneaks. I'm talking about running from the pocket

I'v noticed that also, he has alot of options running for like 7-8 yards without any player around him, instead he is forcing the throw.

2011
43 rushes, his 2nd highest total in his career
109 yards rushing, one off his career high of 110
3 rushing touchdowns, his career high

Re: Just call New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, who can be one nervous cat, Tom 'Fra

Brady has 2 issues post-knee:

1.) Much more hesitant to run

2.) More likely to start feeling the rush if he's hit early

It is what it is.

It is what it is in your mind only. Which tends to conjure fanciful assertions based on unsubstantiated opinion and vague conjecture.

Re: Just call New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, who can be one nervous cat, Tom 'Fra

I'll admit the year after the knee injury he was very rattled, by anybody. The year after that he improved. This year he seems to be getting back to his normal self.

I've seen a bunch of games this season where he actually moved around in the pocket to avoid the pass rush or the sack and find time to throw, something he wasn't doing the last two seasons. I've also seen him run from the pocket a few times this year. He did it about two or three times vs Philly. Then people started complaining about the way he was sliding. I guess it's hard for a guy like him to get any love, regardless of what he does.

'fraidy or no fraidy I'd take him over any QB in the league. I might give him Vick's athleticism, but I can also live without that too.

I get it!
Rhymes with Brady!

My favorite Elisha, much harder to sack.
Here plays D, in a cover two:

Nonsense. As the numerous articles, comments and conversations show, it's clearly not in my mind only. Instead of being so knee jerk about the situation, try realizing that noting such things does not equal some method of viciously disparaging Brady. Given that I'm one of those who talk of Brady as the G.O.A.T. most often, you should know better.

Deus, you're generally a good poster but this is a case of your being provocative for its own sake. And it worked, you got a rise out of me. What you assert about Brady's knee injury affecting his performance or decision making in ANY respect has been a total non-issue since early in the 2009 season.

Re: Just call New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, who can be one nervous cat, Tom 'Fra

Yeah, he was real scared when he jumped over the pile to get the ball in the endzone on Sunday, with Ray Lewis ready to take his head off.

Or like when he ws pulverized...literally lifted off his feet ...in the Denver game (by Dumervil, I think)...he basically threw in the towel after that...right? :p

I wasn't being provocative. As a matter of fact, my first post was pretty clearly one that was limiting, and mostly minimizing, the issue. And your claim that this is a non-issue is clearly not true.

Two things:

1.) On a game-long or season-long basis, I would much rather have Tom force a throw, then running the ball to try to get 7-8 yards.

2.) Love your pic. :rocker:

Yeah no kidding. :)
It's just ridiculous. "Fraidy cat QB's" Don't even try to make a play like that.
