Gordie Gronkowski: Rob has a high-ankle sprain. Will play (in pain).

That is not good news at all.

It all depends on severity though. Some people can recover in a week others it takes four months. We all knew he had a sprained ankle, I doubt there is anything earth shattering here.

Well damn. That's very bad news. **** you Bernard Pollard.

Poop I was hoping for a normal sprain. High ankle will not heal before SB. He will be a shell in pass attack but still a good blocker.

I think we are overreacting. It may not be the most severe type and he did come back into the game. I had a high ankle sprain in college. Could not do a thing on it when it first happened (playing hoops). Could barely walk the next day. Walked OK the 2nd day. Was 100% by the fifth day. I've also had them (later in life) when i was out for 10 weeks. It all depends on youth (he is young) and severity (unknown) but its not the worst because he came back in and was moving around OK afterward.

This probably helps Bill as the Giants may think Gronk could be out. He will be at no less than 80% when he plays and may be closer to 95%.

:)

Men in black suits with dark sunglasses and "MHK" lapel pins are on their way to the Gronkowski residence....

Eh. Reads like calculated misinformation to me.

I think we all pretty much knew this yesterday. The fact remains that he was putting pretty good weight on hit in the tunnel on the way off the field and looked a lot better than Roethlisberger did when he walked back. Gronk will play and he will probably play very well with the issues being 1) pain tolerance which I don't expect to be an issue (between a shot and the way Gronk is) and 2) the increased likelihood of re-injury which is more of an issue, he'll be taped up tons but will likely have a better chance to turn the ankle during the game. Like Double TE said, not all high ankle sprains are the same and while it will have swelled up on him later, Gronk looked reasonably OK walking back to the locker room and then playing later presumably with a pain killer.

All that said, I don't expect him to practice until about next Wednesday and I expect him to be wearing a boot when he boards and leaves the plane on Sunday. Nothing wrong with precautions.

You got it. When its a minor sprain you wear a boot and rest it. Period. I bet by next Wed. you'll see him practice. The two weeks off is HUGE in this situation.

ha ha....was going to say the exact same thing...the fox is clever'-er' that we think he is, and believe me we think he's pretty damn clever...:)

I hope Bernard Pollard suffers a painful career ending injury.

noooooooooooooooooo

he'll be fine, they are keeping him out of practice so he can heal, he knows his role and doesn't need to practice.

in any case, the patriots are going to run the hell out of the ball against that 4 DE Bull**** the giants run.

Although he is an o-lineman, Nick Mangold returned from a high ankle sprain in two or three weeks and didn't look worse for wear. Obviously, Roethlisberger returned right away, but looked like crap.

Two weeks to return for a mild high ankle sprain is not crazy. Zo said that watching Gronk play after he returned, he didn't see any drop of the leg or drag of the leg which is common with high ankle sprains because the foot is usually dead weight. That is a positive sign.

All I'm going to say is this:

You never see Gumby and Rob Gronkowski in the same place at the same time.

LOL.......BB prob told dad to say that
