Ochocinco calls time with Patriots a humbling experience | ProFootballTalk

nobody can argue he didn't put his best effort forward.

he's an old vet who hooked with a chance for a ring before its over......I hope he gets his ring this will be a lesson for today's prima-donna WR about sacrifice for the win...sure he got paid nicely, but I believe he wanted to be out there very badly.

I hope he gets a big play in against the giants

I can honestly say there is nothing I want more for 85 than to make a play or two next week. He went through a bit of a transformation this year, lost his dad recently. Yes, in the past he was who he was. Be that as it may, hope he gets in on a few plays in SB46.

I agree...... I hope that he can contribute in the SB (we'll probably need him to if Gronk is limited much). I actually like him out there more then I like Edelman as a receiver.

Not looking for a world beater. Just a couple of good plays to 1) help us win foremost, 2) to also reward him for not being a d!ck about his lack of production and field time, when everything in his personality indicates he would have been.

It sends a very good message to all other players......... Come to NE, do your job and what's asked of you, and none of the extra crap that is not needed and collect your long awaited ring ;)

I'm pulling hard for this guy. He loves the game, has fun playing it. His skills have eroded a bit, but I don't think it's physical with him - its mental. He just cant wrap his head around this type of read the coverage and react offense. He's been playing in another type of offense his whole life. Old dog new tricks kind of deal

I still don't think it's too late for him. Hoping for a catch or two in the SB, that would be cool. And yes, I like him on the field more than Edleman. Edelman is a good backup for Wes, but not a great option is Wes is on the field too.

Ocho still has the opportunity to make his first season with the Patriots an overwhelming success.

Maybe this SB can be a "redemption game" like Game 6 of the 2007 ALCS was for the Sox:

I agree i wat to see I'm make some plays on Sunday and I would rather have him out there than Edelman.

I hope he is active and has the game of his life.

Will Ocho be the first healthy scratch in Super Bowl history to have his own booth on media day?

If he goes for 100 yards and a TD, the entire season of unproductiveness will be forgotten.

What? At least Edelman is useful.

Yes, Chad is saying the right things....good for him, but don't be suprised if he isn't targeted once on Superbowl Sunday. The thought that he could have an impact on the game is laughable. I mean, really? People are STILL giving him the benefit of the doubt? What a bunch of enablers.

How special of you to notice this on a messageboard. You are truly gifted. Being able to hear and smell things via cyberspace. No wonder you're a big Chad supporter. Do you beleive in unicorns too?

I hope he pulls a JD Drew and gets it done for the Pats. Drew sucked but that one HR vs. Cleveland basically justified his existence. With Gronk likely at around 80%, Ocho can really help and that would be awesome!!!!!

Not what we are looking for. Disagree and state your reasons, or put the person ignore.

Personal attacks such as that are not needed even from accoss the pond.

Yes. It would be nice to see Chad score a TD. But it won't happen.

IMO, the biggest impact play he might have have will be a catch to move the chains at some point.

edelman is not very useful as a WR....neither is slater

I am shocked they have not run a play where Edelman runs a reverse and then throws the ball. Was he not a QB in college?

What a bunch of enablers.

Enabling what, exactly?

A guy who was a superstar on the field and in the media at one point in his career flying under the radar when almost any other primadonna WR in his position would be moping and whining?

A guy who everyone on the Patriots has said is giving good effort and not complaining?

Bottom line is this may just be a place that's a bad fit for Ochocinco. Why some of you feel the need to turn your disappointment in his lack of on-field performance into a personal grudge is beyond me.

I think Ocho is wearing a hoodie on game day.

Brady jokes that Edelman couldn't hit the side of a barn all the time.
