Another good read with picture breakdowns, this one focused on the mid-season matchup between the teams and showed how the Giants were able to get heat on Brady. It also shows how the Pats were successful as well.

Regards,
Chris

Excellent article. Thanks for posting. It jibes with what I have been observing in game 9. We used a lot of play-action to force the Giants defense into a read and react mode where they are not at their best.

the pats offense doesn't even look the same since the last giants game

what goes addressed is when hernandez lines up in the backfield. so far that has frozen 2 consecutive defenses who also fail to locate him if they don't hand it off to him.

gronk can smack any of the DE's the way he smacked suggs.

the way the pats are using their TE's, the giants simply don't have an answer...the ravens threw the kitchen sink at these two, and it really didn't work......defenses simply have not put in the time to address a 2 TE-based passing game as it jus tleaves too many holes all over the field. now that a team has basically 2 1000 yard TE's, somebody is going to have to figure something out

Key of the game for the Pats on offense, IMHO. If the Giants are able to get pressure on Brady with just their front 4 they'll be able to drop 7 back making it tough on the Pats to score enough points to keep up with the Giants offense.

Is it just me or does the level of football analysis go to another level in the playoffs, more specifically in the lead up to the Superbowl?

Why can't it be like this every week O'lord? Why why why?

Very true and the same on defense. We had Sergio Brown taking snaps, Adams, Barrett.... all guys that suck major back there.

The great Tracy White was covering Ballard on the match winning touchdown if that helps.

Pats have to get some traction running the ball. It made a big difference against the Ravens, especially in the 2nd quarter, and the Giants can be run on easier than the Ravens can be.

And please for the love of all that is holy don't go empty backfield.

or just we had Sergio Brown taking a snap.

His PI play killed us. In the NFL Network rebroadcast, Eli admitted he was just throwing the ball away, so Sergio tackling the sort-of receiver in the end zone (after Patrick Chung had to leave the field) was a gift to the Giants from the heavens.

Sure they made some great passes to Ballard, but without that PI call the Pats would have won, IMO. It was the right call-- I am not complaining about the officials-- but it is a stupid, stupid mistake that Chung would never have made.

Another PI call earlier on Arrington also gave them 35 yards. Boneheaded.

Sergio had 1 snap on defense in that game...and it was a DPI. :bricks:

Peyton got the face, Eli got the shoe...
