Brady consults Tom Martinez about poor AFCC

Mr. Kraft should have a special ring made for Tom Martinez...

Of course the article has to make reference to Tebow..

I don't understand why the Patriots have not thought about hiring this guy as the QB coach. When Brady has issues, he goes to him, not O'Brien or whoever they have on staff as the QB coach.

One reason is he has serious health issues, and was near death several months ago.. not everyone wants the rigors that a position coach has to go through.. months and months of long days, with little time off.

I really think the problem was those big bad Ravens were so pathetic in getting any pressure.

Personally, I think he's at his best being fluid in the pocket with some guys around.

With zero pressure, it provides too much time and the ability to get cute and throw off his back foot.

A little movement around the pocket with firm decision making and stepping into the throw is optimal.

This is some great news to read as I get ready to go to work!

Very nice of Brady. It seemed his throws were sailing on him all day long. Actually, I thought he played much better in the second quarter, apart from that stupid decision to throw the bomb to Slater.

Yesterday ESPN was surmising this is evidence that he's becoming unglued and was a desperation move.(First Take).

Wow, never heard this one before. Brady plays better when being pressured! Hopefully the Giants will do a better job of pressuring Brady like they did in Super Bowl XLII.

I think at some point Martinez would need to be in Foxboro and not everyone wants to live in NE.

Brady has such passion and can be so hard on himself. You couldn't ask for more in a quarterback, I just love the guy.

I tend to think the Ravens had more than a bit to do with his performance Sunday. Save for the bad throw to Gronk early when he was open for a score and the ill-advised bomb to Slater, I don't think he was awful -- just not Tom Terrific.

OK, after actually READING the article, my reaction now is "Big deal, they texted".

I thought TFB would have actually flown out to San Mateo and worked with Martinez for a day or two - or had him flown in like in September.

I wish Brady had time for a trip to San Mateo, but we'll have to settle for texts.

Historically, any time Brady has gone for advice to Martinez, dividends paid off in the very short term. I don't know if that applies just to texting, but I'll take it.

You have to admire a guy like Brady who is perpetually trying to get better and using all resources at his disposal to do this. He keeps any form of his ego in check and it's all about getting better and leading the team.

I actually don't understand how Martinez would be more insightful than the coaches that see brady every day at practice and that analyze game tape in detail

I don't think this means much for Brady's game, but I'm glad to hear that Martinez is well enough to give advice. From what I remember his family saying a few months ago, his death was imminent.
