Ray Lewis's speech to the Ravens.

Nice speech, I like Lewis personally, can't imagine he'd murder anyone, looks like a changed man if he did.

I really liked it.

He's incredible and I wish we had some kind of fire and brimstone leader for our defense.

Really missing Rodney and Willie - - it always felt like our team was always going to be the initiator not the reactor.

We can only wish we had a player who loves the game and is a humongous character and role model like the Ravens players and their fans have in Mr. Lewis.

IMO if you don't think a guy like Lewis is a player that the other 31 teams wish they had as a fellow player on their team then you are more stupid than you think.

Ray is the type of player that comes around once in 10 years or so.

Ray Lewis is the Ravens defensive version of Tom Brady.

I think it's almost become his job at this point. He feels responsible to do it. The cameras are always there waiting for him to do it. I think what he said though, whether it was from the heart or not, was definitely wise and the right thing to say. Trying to get them to bounce back and get back to work next season.

I think he's a blessing and a problem for that team though. It's hard for any quarterback to become the leader with Ray Lewis on your team. You should definitely have a leader on defense, but I don't know if they should ever overshadow the quarterback or coach.

I guess it's worked out ok for them so far but I wouldn't want that leadership structure on my team. He definitely filled the role when they didn't have a guy that could take over, but I think Flaco, is their man and could handle that leadership position but he won't get it until Lewis is gone.

Coaching and playing are two different things. Look at Mike Singletary.He was a motivational speaker not a coach.

I agree. BB doesn't strike me as the motivational type and the results speak for themselves. Will always miss Teddy though. Loved that guy. What a football player.

Anyone who thinks that speech wasn't inspirational is off their rockers. The guy is a gifted orator and a future football HOF'er. I respect the hell out of him and his on/off-field skills.

I LOVED the speech. That guy can make you believe that you can do anything in life. That's the kind of guy that you need in your locker room. That's the kind of guy you truly believe has your back no matter what. I loved it.

The speech was amazing, I saw it on NFL live and immediately came here to see if anyone saw it. My girlfriend heard him speak after the ravens lost and how he defended the kicker and she said "Wow that guy is very motivational"

It's not difficult to understand why that D has been so consistent during his tenure. Ray Lewis is a leader of men, period. You hear the guy speak and you should have no question why guys in the foxhole with him go hard. A true leader. You can't underestimate what not having players like that can do to your team.

Ask the eagles did they miss Brian Dawkins this year. That team had no heart and no mental toughness at the end of games.
