Peyton Manning over in Indy? Will Eli and the Giants be extra motivated?

Anybody else keeping up with this story? It's on ESPN too. I looked for a thread and don't see one. Looks like Peyton might be done in Indy. I hate it for him honestly.

Is Eli likely to be extra motivated in front of his brother's organization if they decide to cut Peyton?

It's probably about 95% that Peyton is done in Indy, and probably about 40-50% that's he's a Dolphin next year.

But I don't see how it adds motivation for Eli.

Honestly Irsay and Peyton had better cut this out. It will be MONTHS before the Colts can actually make a roster move with Peyton. The NFL can't allow this story to overshadow the Superbowl.

The focus should be on the Pats and Giants. Legacies are at stake. Let's worry about Peyton later.

Is Eli likely to be extra motivated in front of his brother's organization if they decide to cut Peyton?

Using this for motivation seems a bit of a stretch. What would it accomplish?

Well it is in Indianapolis and Eli is his brother. They do help each other out. I'd wanna prove a point for my brother.

And just for the record. The Patriots players and BB doesn't want to win the superbowl for MHK or Ocho's dad. They want to win it because they want to win it.

Whyl would the Ravens take Peyton when they Flaco? Flaco's a damn good QB. He's either the first or second in the history of the NFL with the most wins in his first 4 years as a starter.

I hope Luck has luck in Indy. The QB, more than anyone, needs a great coach. Only a few can survive without one.

Personally, I hope that the SOB Irsay hires an idiot coach and he screw everything up while Peyton goes somewhere and wins.

I have empathy for Peyton, his situation sucks, but during the lockout his issue was not having access the facility and now it's apparently not a good place for healing...

Time to move on to commercials and commentating and guest starring in movies, where Brady (not to mention Eli or Aaron or Drew) will never top him because his timing and delivery there is impecable.

As for Eli, this will have zero impact on his motivation. It's just a building where he he got croaked the only other time he played there...

Peyton is a big boy and he's stomped Eli the only two times they've met. Eli has had to exist in his shadow for most of his life.

You think Eli doesn't have a chip on his shoulders? He's got something to prove too, imo. They only way he'll ever get out of his brother's shadow is by winning more Super Bowls, and.....beating the team his brother couldn't.

Maybe you might not agree but even hypothetically speaking, if they did have that kind of motivation going for them....how do we fight it? What's our angle?

We tell Archie & Mom that Eli winning demeans Peyton his flesh and blood brother to win a SB in HIS dome beating his brother's ring count while Peyton lies injured, his career and health up in the air.

Honestly this extra motivation issue is beyond stupid.

I disagree I think motivation and things like this are a huge part of the game. I think the death of GB's OC's son was an affecting factor.

But I figured it out myself.....Tom Brady needs to take a lesson from all this. You never know if this could be, not just the last Super Bowl, but the last game you will ever play in the NFL. The lesson from this story is you play this game as if it is the last game you will ever play!

Prove what point though? That Eli can win more Superbowls? That he's a better playoff QB than his brother? What point does the Giants winning prove other than Eli is in a far better situation than his brother at the moment?
