Superbowl refs

Although some might think it hurts the Pats, I really hope they keep their damned flags in their pockets, much like we've seen in our first 2 playoff games. Call the obvious ones and don't let the game be decided by any marginal calls

I hope he's learned a few things since the first time the Pats had him as a referee. . . . the 2007 Colts game. :bricks:

Oh Boy! The same refs whose quick whistle saved the Giants from a fumble in their own red zone.

And Mr. 4th and 2, and did not make it?

Oh Brother. Now its will be Pats 11 versus Giants 11+6.:p

As long as they let the players play and aren't obviously biased one way or the other...

If they miss/make calls against both sides equally, I'm ok.....

Eli has enough horseshoes up his butt...he doesn't need the ref's in his pocket also.

The 2007 Colts-Patriots playoff game is the worst officiated game that I've seen since the 1976 Raiders playoff game.

Bad crew. Don't like the dude at all. I would have much preferred Gene Steratore, who did the Broncos playoff game.

That was Bill Carollo. Parry did the regular season game in 07.

Anyone but Jeff Triplette, I say.

So it looks like this is bad news?

I thought that the refs last Sunday did an excellent job, they called the obvious re-routing of the WR on the Balt int (I think the flag came out only after the int, but at least the recognized that they had to call it). They called the obvious penalties, I can't remember a single offensive holding call (note to Pats lineman, hold like the Giants did in SB 42, they are not going to call it). But I thought they let the boys play, they called the blatent fouls and let everything else go.

This I think has hurt the Pats in the playoffs the last few years, the Jets mugged our recievers last year and got away with it. Hopefully our WR will take a lessen from Branch and push off, as they seem to let that go too (cough, cough, again Giants in SB 42).

I would have Gronk just run straight up the field into whoever is covering him, smash into the DB/LB, bounce off him, turn around catch ball, all is good.

Look nobody wants a SB with flags everywhere, so they let certain things go, I guess the trick here is knowling how much you can get away with.

Maybe this time they will bet on the Pats.

John Parry knows a good manicure when he sees one

No Mike Carey???...yes!

No Jeff Triplette???..why would they have this avowed cracker ref a game between two squads north of the Mason/Dixon line...yes yes!!!

No Ed Hochuli???..this means the Super Bowl will be played in UNDER six hours...yes yes yes!!

My GF knows referee DiFilice #53 personally out here in SD, and she says he's really bummed because his crew was up for the SB this year but he sprained his ankle and couldn't go. So maybe they replaced him? Kept the crew? All new crew? None of the above? All crap?

Anyway her details are sketchy, take as is for now. I'll try to get more info.

The 2007 colts game Parry did was well officiated IIRC--certainly an accomplishment in the Peyton Dome.

You must not have watched Super Bowl 40, or the Colts-Steelers playoff game of the same year.
