SB in a sunny climate like Arizona, California or Florida, we are there.

Indy isn't exactly noted as a tourist destinantion....

rather watch at home or in a sports bar.

Yeah if I had money to piss away I'd consider it but you'll end up paying 5k minimum for bad seats and then money for travel and hotel plus food to visit frigid Indianapolis and deal with Colts fans. Screw that.

If the Pats are fortunate enough to make it next year I'll get tickets because I live in New Orleans and a lot of that cost is taken out.

The article is misleading when it uses MA's unemployment rate as an argument that the state is doing alright financially. What they don't know is how much wages are down. Of course New York is going to outsell New England, only thing now I'm worried about is crowd noise. Is Indy going to pipe in some of that famous crowd noise???

I have never understood the rationale of why it is illegal for me to sell a ticket for more than one dollar over face value and have to take a loss because I can't recoup the "convenience fee" and whatever other bogus fees are tacked onto the price of a ticket, but ticket brokers are allowed to legally run a for-profit business with revenues explicitly derived from selling the very same ticket for hundreds of dollars more than that very same face value.



In regards to the original topic I'm sure fans of other teams will cite this as some sort of "proof" that Pats fans are "bad" fans or whatever. I say what it may show is that they are not sheep, and are actually very intelligent. Add in the price of lodging and transportation the the price of the ticket and you're spending upwards of $4,000 for nosebleeds surrounded by corporate suits with no rooting interest in either team. The alternative of staying at home in front of the 60" HD and accompanying sound system makes a whole lot more sense.

If I had the $$, which I don't, I'd fly into Chicago the day before the game, spend the night in Chicago, and drive a rental to Indy the morning of the game. I might stick around for parties if the Patriots win, but otherwise I'd hightail it out of town ASAP.

It is legal for you to sell a ticket for more than the face value.

What is illegal is for you to sell a ticket for more than face value AND not collect and pay sales tax for the higher price.

Get a business permit from the state that allows you to collect and pay sales tax and you can sell your tickets for higher than you paid for them.

We're just waiting for prices to go down. Talked to a ticket broker this morning who said sales are stagnant at this point because prices are so high. Hopefully they will do what they did last time and come down next week. Plenty of Pats fans will be there for the game.

Another problem is rooms, I talked to a few hotels and the NFL owns all the rooms. I asked if they had some sort of waitlist for cancellations and he said nope, they are all sold. I wonder if you just walked in on Saturday and asked, if they might have one, or let you sleep in the lobby...........

I don't see the rational of going to the SB, and then have to drive to Terrue Haute, IN to spend the night. I would rather sleep in the car.
