49ers WR/KR Kyle Williams receives Death Threats after the loss

Might wanna change the thread title as it is Kyle and not Kenny :p

I saw this today too. There are some seriously messed up people in this world.

Looks like they hate Kyle in California as much as they do in Arizona. "Butterfingers" made the same boneheaded play in college and cost ASU a game against in-state rival Arizona. The kid has a history of coughing up furballs in big moments. Might have been nice if the Niner coaching staff knew that before they allowed him a chance at mistake number 2 in OT.

Sports in America (and elsewhere - looking you're way world soccer) can be really, really out of hand.

It should be fun if you win, and somewhat disappointing if you lose. It shouldn't be your raison d'etre or life & death.

People need to get their priorities straight...

Saw this coming, I can't remember somebody screwing up so badly in a chance to go to a SB. I know Cundiff was bad but this was way worse IMO. Too many animals out there for this not to happen.

On the subject, where was Ted Ginn I was wondering this all game. Isn't he one of the best returners in the league?

Pathetic really. Instead of directing death threats at someone playing for the team you support, how about getting off your fat arses and achieving something like an NFL player does by becoming an NFL player.

Gutless wankers.

Some people really need to step back and assess thier life. Vegas notwithstanding some act like they were going to get paid if thier team went to the SuperBowl. Pathetic....

I hope the authorities track down the people who made these threats and put them in jail - - after publicly shaming them on television.

I'm sure that most of those came over the social media and internet. Crazy people feel brave with a keyboard in front of them.

The coaches should take responsibilty for this. The put this kid out there again after his first blunder without instructions to fair catch and nor did they put a vet out there. Not to mention some pathetic offensive playcalling with multiple chances to win the game.

So this is what happens when the Niners have good seasons?

My car forum is like that. Tough guys behind keyboard

If Cundiff makes it and Edelman fumbles the OT kickoff Pats fans do the same, its just venting not serious.

Venting is cursing that players name and throwing anything near you into a wall.

Sending a direct message to an athlete that you might take his life because he cost your favorite team a win is NOT venting...it's a crime and if caught, that venting (as you put it ) will send you to jail.

You need an education in what venting means

Wow. I've seen some clueless posts on this site over more than a decade, but that one is the champ right there.

I know it's disappointing that your team lost by a KR dropping a ball on a kickoff, but death threats are ridiculous.....it's only a game for God sakes

Here is hoping none of those lunatics with death threats ever tries anything to Williams...there are a lot of nuts out there.

2012 NFL Playoffs -- San Francisco 49ers' Kyle Williams received death threats - ESPN

A lot of fans are idiot. They get into fights at the game or spit on people wearing the other teams shirt. At Yankees Stadium a section chanted a-hole to a 10 year old kid for wearing a Mets jersey. They get mad and threaten the players. When Ken Griffey JR was in Cincy him and his family got over 200 death threats during his first season because he was not playing well enough. Fans in Chicago would sent racist letters to manager Dusty Baker. Remember in 09 after the bills game when the player got his home vandalized? A lot of fans are idiots.

Ted Ginn injured his knee during the Saints game and was unable to play.

Two Giants were quoted as saying they had targeted Kyle Williams since he had a history of concussions. They said they wanted to put a big hit on him to knock him out of the game. Talk about classless and just plain wrong. Football is a tough and physical game but there is no place for that , especially regarding the life altering results of concussions (i.e. Marc Savard, Sidney Crosby). The other thing is if it is true that Williams has a history of concussions, why in the world is he back there catching punts? Maybe that affected his ability to catch the ball cleanly and aggressively. Not trying to make excuses, I'm just saying.
