Patriots Home Team in Super Bowl, Will Wear Blue Jerseys
By: Derek Havens

The NFL office announced on Monday afternoon that the New England Patriots will be the designated home team in Super Bowl XLVI and will wear their blue jerseys. ...

I really don't care what color jerseys they wear, but if BB walks out in that piece of **** red hoodie, I'll look like.....

Patriots to wear the blue Jersey again!

WHY! They wore it last time and got beat, why wear again? I don't like it and want an explanation from BB himself!!

Re: Patriots to wear the blue Jersey again!

They were 2-0 in it until 2007, obviously that meant a whole lot.

Re: Patriots to wear the blue Jersey again!

Jersey color isn't going to impact the game in a jinx fashion. If anything I'd think it would give a (minimal) psychological edge, as I long ago read that dark jerseys make a player look more physically imposing.

The uniforms didn't make anyone get beat...

Possibly, havent watched any replay.

As much as no one will probably agree with your statement, at the time in 2007-2008, I think it may have some merit.

When you consider that the NYG's were the "road warriors" that yr, winning 11 straight on the road, I may have chosen to force them to wear their home blue jerseys too.

Sadly, Belichick did not agree, which is quite predictable since he would never get into that kind of nonsense.

In the end, no I don't think the jersey color had much to do with the loss, but I do think the NYG's were more comfortable playing in their road whites, so why allow them to remain comfortable.

In this yr's case, I don't believe it matters in the least.

Personally, I like their white road jerseys when not @ Gillette, but I don't have that as part of my superstitions, BUT BB wearing that red hoodie, now that's a different animal!

Just speculating but Belichick may be of the mind set that wearing the whites shows a psychological weakness given the outcome of the last game. Wearing the blues shows that it has no meaning.

Or maybe he just doesnt care which ones we wear and we wear blue since we are the home team and its the default.

We do know that Belichick isn't above psychological stuff with the uniforms as the Dallas game showed.

I might very well switch off the game and walk out

As long as they don't wear the the throwbacks. I do like the throwbacks, but I still think they are cursed.

BB needs to dig up the oldest most tatterred grey hoodie he can find in his collection.

I was hoping the Pats would wear the whites just to give the game a different look than the 07/08 game.

Looks like BB was in a no win situation here.

If he opted for the Away uniforms people would say he was still haunted by 2008. By choosing the Home uniforms he has people all over him for re-creating some conditions from the "scene of the crime."

IMO, he did the right thing by choosing the path of least resistance; they're the Home team so they wear the Home uniforms.

I thought it was an obvious joke on my part. I guess not.
