I have to tell you, I think I get what the players mean when they say that the high of winning does not last near as long as the low of losing does. The joy that came from watching that game quickly turned to panic when the Giants won that game last night.
I know that a lot of people want revenge for the 2007 super bowl loss, but facing the Giants was not my first choice. To me, they play a similar style defense as the Ravens and have a better offense against our defense, and I am not emotionally prepared to see the Patriots lose to them again.
I know that Brady can play better and the defense has played better of late, but facing Alex Smith and his 12-27 passing would have made me feel more comfortable.
I hope Brady and Belichick can find some adjustments from the game earlier this year and bring home the Lombardi, but I will admit, my confidence is shaky right now and I could use a boost from my fellow patsfans.

I'm pretty glad most people are picking the Giants to win this game. Hell, I don't even know how confident I am in the Pats' chances.

It's certainly a lot better, I think, to get the unexpected win rather than coming in the overwhelming favorite and losing like...2007.

I never expected to get this squad to get this far, so have to enjoy it for what it is.

Don't feel good.

It all comes down to turnovers. Looking at our game from earlier this year we put up 438 yards of offense but lost because we turned it over 4 times (2 INTs, fumble, missed field goal) for a -2. We simply have to protect the football better than we did that game and yesterday as well and we need to pick Eli off at least once.

I think these teams are pretty even across the board.

I feel good because we got this far, with all of the innumerable threads and posts about how poor BB was as a talent evaluator, unimaginative play calling, lousy defense etc. etc. etc. The continual barrage by the mediots in the paper and on the radio saying how pyss poor we are. Despite this, we have won 10 in a row, we average over 30 points a game, and our defense is not historic, but somehow finds a way to win.

The extra motivation is Brady/Belichick.. do not discount how they feel about the previous SuperBowl loss.. and they will do everything in their ability to bring us a victory..

Emotionally prepared has little to do with any of this, it is a game.. win or lose, nothing will change in the world.

Meanwhile 30 teams, 1590 players, about 250 coaches and 200 million fans are all wishing that they were in our shoes.. we are very lucky to be in this predicament. 5 Superbowl appearances in 12 years is very rare in the NFL.

As a new Patriots fan, and one who has not felt so much excitement, nausea, fear, and euphoria watching a pro game since I was a teenager - and still coming down from yesterday - my "gut" is telling me that as the Patriots held it together and made it a team effort to win, they will do the same in the Super Bowl. They will learn from mistakes made in the Championship game and shake them all out by February 5th. They will be ready to win Super Bowl XLVI.

Well, the Giants have a great defensive line, a great group of receivers, a tremendous QB, who already beat Brady in a Super Bowl, a great head coach, they are red hot, and our TB laid an egg in the last game, but............................................we have Myra Kraft, so edge goes to the Patriots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Don't feel good, even tho this is the matchup I wanted. If Pats play a mistake-free game, they can win.

My gut feeling right now is that we should be favored, but the Giants match up better against us than we do against them. As of today, I'm feeling that we'd be very fortunate to win this game, but that will probably change a number of times as we approach the game.

My gut feeling is I am nervous because the Giants give us fits and always seem to get that one play that they need to pull things out.

On the other hand, as yesterday's game showed, you should just keep playing, because anything can happen, and often, it does.

GO PATS!! Payback time for the Giants.

Manning is going to have a field day...but so is Brady. The Patriots TEs will run wild as will the Giants receivers; it should be fun.

Pressure all on the Giants IMO..first off if you listen to the talking heads we should not even be in the SB so i think we are playing with house money..Let it ride baby open it up and go for the kill...

I was watching Mike + Mike this morning and they had that loser Mel Kiper Jr on and he was whinning about the lee evens catch and basically said the Patriots were lucky to win the game, and maybe they were but you create you own luck by hard work..

Melkiper hates the pats and always has..I remember when the PAtriots drated Logan Mankins Kiper was saying it was a bad pick and Mankins was not even the best lineman on the board..How did that pick work out Mel ???

I'm feeling pretty good about the upcoming game. There are the tangible things, like the fact that TB had a bad game and still came out on top, that we faced the Giants already this season and lost (2007 in reverse, we'll have strategies and motivation this time), and the Pats seem to be peaking right now, especially on defense. Then there are all the intangibles; the fact that we're finally getting some breaks in the playoffs (MHK?), the amazing coincidence of having all our recent playoff nemeses lined up for us, having the game played in a rival's stadium, etc.

I don't know, I'm just getting good vibes about how things are falling into place.

NYG 37 - NE 27 says my brain.

NE 34 - NYG 31 says my heart.

I'll go with my heart, F the GIANTS!!!!

:D

Same here...Much different feeling from 2007 where all the undefeated pressure and perfect season took center stage..I feel a quiet confidence the Pats will find a way to win,not sure how but like yesterday we learned anything can and will happen...

I just hope so Giant players start yapping and guaranteeing a victory !!!

My gut feel is its going to be a roller coaster ride.
I really wish we still had Andre Carter WITH Anderson to take Eli down.
I want that punk hurt.
Im not going to a super Bowl party-that's for sure.

Especially after the get together yesterday-Im sorry-I'm not a misogynist but football and women DONT mix...unless you can keep your mouth shut and let me get pissed at Tom without whining.

The last SB "get together" was w/ some dudes that could care less and said..."see I told you so,,,"

I need to go to the gym asap

im still pissed

i guess some people are better off alone!

Just going to enjoy the ride. We could be watching two weeks of SB hype and a SB game of two teams we couldn't care less about. Now we get to two weeks of excitement and to watch our team play one more game, the biggest one of all. Hey, nobody gave the Patriots a chance vs the Rams in the SB and we all know how that turned out. Any given Sunday anything can happen. Two weeks to prepare, they have a great chance. A chance is all I ask for.

I'm with you, watching the SF/NY game last night i felt we could have little problem beating the niners. I think this game against the giants is going to be ugly, a lot like yesterdays ravens pats game.

I don't think the pats will win it. Which is good because I had that feeling 3 other times before.

My gut feel is pats will win. Would be stronger if they were underdogs but virtually very few people will pick them to win and pats usually pull out most games when people give them no shot.
