.....by a mile.

Get ready folks, the national media will be trumpeting the Giants front four and how great they are and how the Giants DL manhandled the Pats OL in 2007.

But they will ignore the real story here.

The Patriots OL is FAR better than the 2007 version. Far more talented, far more experienced and far deeper. If (and that is a big IF) Vollmer is back in 2 weeks, then it becomes the best in Patriots history (and that is saying alot, when considering the Pats 1974-1978 line).

They CRUSHED the vaunted Ravens front seven yesterday. Brady was very well protected and when they ran (UP THE GUT!!!!!) they were plowing.

The Patriots problems really came from Brady and EXCEPTIONALLY poor playcalling.

The Pats have been really smart w/ the line. When you have the best QB in the game, you protect him, and that line really does. Most impressive unit I've seen on any team in many years.

The Giants D is vulnerable - not as strong as '07. Good front, but the rest is fairly average.

The biggest difference w/ them is that their O has improved significantly since '07. In that game, it would have been over if the Pats had gone up by 2 scores. In this one, the Giants can put up points fairly quickly & easily if they need to.

THe true test of the O-line is in the superbowl.

if they keep bradys ass clean then. Yes they are better.

All to play for. I hope Dante shows Mankins a tape of SB42. Say nuthin.

then show it again.

Hopefully it is a better performance than last time.

Our O-Line in 07 was great. Losing Neal hurt. All that matters is our performance at the SB because the Giants Pass Rush is NASTY!!!

The OL performed admirably. But the Giants pose a bigger threat in terms of pass rush, so we'll see if this turns out to be true. I tend to think you are right, but we have still been susceptible to interior pressure, which is what derailed our last SB attempt.

I remember Brady having all day to throw in 07

Our offense in SB 42:

Pass Plays: 48
Runs: 16

The Pats OL DEMOLISHED a much better front 7 yesterday than they will see in the SB. The Giants DL is FASTER but not nearly as strong as the Ravens DL. They will be more SLIGHTLY more dangerous rushing the passer but more easily pushed around than the impressive Ravens were.

There should be no more 48-16 Pass-Rush ratio this time. Our OL can PLOW. Let the pass set up the runs this time around.

Will the OC actually commit to the running game though?

The fruit punch at your SB Party must have been HEAVILY spiked.

He is talking about the 07 season...not the Super Bowl

IMO this O-line is better than '07 because Connolly is now at center Mankins and Waters solidifying the center of the line. In 07 i remember a lot of pressure coming right up the middle. I don't see that happening this year.

The definition of insanity is making the same mistake over and over and over and.....

Well, that is the NY Giants out there in 2 weeks, not the Buffalo Bills.

They have the very same dynamic (and some of the same personnel) on their defense as in SB 42.

I'm talking about THIS GAME.

Not the superbowl but the entire year. The O-line was great all year long until the end.

The 07 line was much better, Brady was sacked about 30+ times this season and he went deeper more in 07 meaning more pressure on the line (also can argue we faced tougher defenses all through 07).

Nate Solder >>>>>> Kaczur and >>>>>>>>Vollmer.

He went deeper more in 07 because Moss could catch anything

This is a key point.

In 2007, we basically had only Moss and Welker. Brady had to wait for plays to develop so Moss could get downfield allowing that pass rush to get to us. This time around, we don't have to wait for plays to open up as long. We have TEs and receivers that get open quickly so Brady won't need as much time.

Even though we lost to them earlier in the season, it was a close game where Brady had a decent game. He threw for over 300+ yards and 2 TDs.

This. Big props to Connoly as he was up against Ngata last night and didn't let him near Brady once

As has also been said Solder is a beast and Light is possibly having his best ever season
