Whatever his faults, those 2nd and 3rd down plays saved the game.

The strip was unbelievable. A split-second later and an argument could have been made that Evans had possession.

Sterling Moore saved the season.

Savor that.

Per SMY, he didn't even know the play call on the Evans strip:

on 2nd down play to Evans, S Moore didn't hear defensive play, bc he ran to line up w/ Balt in hurry-up, just decided to play man-to-man

I couldn't believe it. Who woulda thought the Patriots' secondary would help send them to the Super Bowl. :D

Should the first play where Evans caught the ball and was stripped of it by Moore have been reviewed in the booth? I doubt they would have overturned it, I wasn't sure if he had full possession of the ball, then two feet, and then stripped of the ball.

I also thought it was close enough to deserve a second look. A little surprised it didn't get one. And I agree that it wouldn't have been overturned. The ball came loose the instant his 2nd foot came down.

Moore is the real deal. Nice pick up.

Sterling Moore will go done in Patriot lore. The guy saved the game. Crazy, just freaking crazy...

Like Tebow...he should begin the pre-season as a starting CB

;)

In real time, it looked like an incredible play, but the slow mo was iffy. Could have gone anyway if they had decided to look at it.

Pretty wild. Who would have thought the Pats D as a whole would be the reason we are going to the SB..

Every TD and non TD is reviewed. That was a non-TD.

This is the first time in a while I've liked the Pats 1-3 CBs. (Arrington, Mccourty, Moore).

We always use to have one stiff in the mix (wilhite, butler, richardson, deltha, etc)

Activate Ras-I for the SB!!!!!

As good as we all feel right now, we were just THAT close to feeling THAT bad. We all have Moore thank for that. What a play, what a cliffhanger of a game. My heart is having a tough time during these games.

Statement from the League:
League defends decision not to review Evans non-catch | ProFootballTalk

“The ruling on the field of an incomplete pass was confirmed by the Instant Replay assistant, correctly, and as a result, there was no need to stop the game,” the league said in a statement forwarded to PFT by spokesman Michael Signora. “The receiver did not get his second foot down in the end zone with possession, and as a result, it was an incomplete pass.”

If only McCourty blossoms into what he showed in his rookie year next year. What does Ras-I bring to the DB? Still think BB drafts another CB high in April.

Moore can close quickly.....need more man coverage and QB pressure in the SB.....

I'm still amazed (and very, very happy) that the refs didn't call Moore for holding on the 3rd down play where he knocked the pass down. Because he was holding the receiver's jersey big time before the ball got there.

This has been a recurring theme in the playoffs. There has clearly been a mandate from the league not to let flags decide these games.

I just wish they could do the regular season the same way, for consistency's sake. The game is much better with few flags.
