Report: Patriots to Play Rams in London for 2012 Season
By: Derek Havens

According to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch report, the St. Louis Rams will be playing in London next season. The Rams will play an AFC opponent, believed to be the New England Patriots. ...

I don't like it. Traveling all the way out to Old England, where they booed us in favor of the freaking Bucs. But at least the team doesn't miss out on a home game, which I'm sure Mr. Kraft had a say in.

Edit: I suppose it's good for the British Pats fans that I've seen on this forum. That has to be a thrill. :)

wtf, the Pats went to London a couple of years ago. It is somebody elses turn. At least it is not a home game.

Pats were booed because fans generally don't like the Patriots, no matter what country they're from.

I won't have to pay 2 grand to see a Pats game this year, so I love it.

Somewhere Goodell is smiling and BB is flipping him the bird many miles away.

Its Amazing for us British Pats - im so happy with this rumour. Although it had better coincide with the Bye week. No way is it good for the Pats if they have to travel back to New England and play the week after London - too short a week!

I missed the Buccs game because i didnt have the spare cash so this would be amazing for me, especially as my mother-in-law moved to London from Glasgow last year. I could palm the wife off to her mothers and enjoy the game - everybody wins :D

If true, then awesome. Watching them over here last time was a dream come true. I also came away with the 25x5ft Tampa Bay banner from outside the stadium as well.

F**k yeah! Just had to phone my girlfriend to let her know :)

Re: Rams to host Patriots at the International Series, Wembley 2012

Now to get the money and get tickets on the Patriots sideline :D

Hopefully a one sided game like last time too!

Re: Rams to host Patriots at the International Series, Wembley 2012

Not thrilled, but as long as it isn't a "home" game and they get the bye after it, it won't be a big deal, and the only question will be if London will survive a visit from the Gronk.

It isn't a home game (Patriots @ Rams)...and Gronk can destroy London for all I care as long as the Patriots get back to America with a W :D

Please let this be true - last time was fantastic :D

You ought to trying selling that on eBay. I would. Not going to do you any good as a Pats fan.

Did the Brits really boo the Patriots? If so that really lowers my opinion of them.

Good point:

Usually this game is right in the middle of the schedule and both teams get their bye right afterwards, so we are looking at if I had to wager the game week 7 or 8 and the bye right after, week 8 or 9 if I had to speculate, which to me is perfect.

What sort of reception do you think the Patriots would get in any city in America outside of New England?

GGGGGGGEEEEEEEETTTTTTT IIIIIIINNNNNN!!!

So excited if this is true.

What's the problem? If it were a "Home" game, I could understand being upset.

It's only a five or so hour flight over (actually shorter than flying TO the West Coast); maybe six and a half coming back, depending on the wind at altitude.

As someone who has dealt many times with jet lag across every time zone on the planet, I know that the difference between three hours to play a Western Division team and five hours to play in London isn't all that great, especially for world class athletes.

They get a bye week right after.

The Krafts get to enhance the "global" side of the Patriots brand.

Brady gets to build up his "Q Score" in Europe for his current and post-retirement marketing ventures.

Young players who have maybe never traveled outside the Americas get to spend some free time after the game in a truly great city, with nearly all expenses paid; their WAG's get to shop at some of the world's toniest stores.

(PS: Note to NFL. Why not just make it an "Away" game for both teams? I'm certain that the League's scheduling software is sophisticated enough to work with one less "Away" game for two teams as a logistical parameter.).

Oct. 28 game makes us have a week 9 bye as the bye is always after that game. Solid week to have a bye.
