Harrison out per Reiss....injury report will be released soon

well, that completely blows. I am sure he would go if he could.

Here's the report from the Herald:

OUT: S Rodney Harrison (Knee)

QUESTIONABLE: WR Bam Childress (Ankle); FB Heath Evans (Shin); TE Benjamin Watson (Knee)

PROBABLE: QB Tom Brady (Right Shoulder); CB Ellis Hobbs (Wrist); DE Richard Seymour (Elbow); LB Mike Vrabel (Back)

* All but Brady, Hobbs and Seymour “missed portions” of practice. Only Harrison and Evans weren’t at the media portion of practice.

I ******* hate you Jeff Fisher. I hope someone stomps on his face with metal cleats.

All this means is that we HAVE to win on Sunday so Rodney can play in the AFC Championship game. We don't want to disappoint Rodney now, do we?

I'm a little surprised he wasn't listed as questionable, or even doubtful, just to maintain that slight edge. Curious.

Just means Belichick is so confident that we can hold him out until the next week :D

That's bad news about Rodney, not that I expected him to come back from a sprained MCL in 2 weeks, but one can dream.

The one thing about this report that concerns me is Watson still being questionable. I was at the game last week, and I really didn't think he looked like his healthy self. With Graham being a primary blocker (most likely) against SD, we need that extra playmaker getting into the secondary, especially a guy who can catch a short pass (get rid of it quicky to avoid pass rush) and turn it into a big play.

Good point. You should post more.

I was a little surprised to see Watson opt out of bounds at one point - I was thinking, "Good Christ, you're a physical specimen, a big, speedy, talented TE and you're running out of bounds instead of taking a moment to get your feet under you and BASH the guy who's trying to cover you?!" Perhaps the injury is still limiting him. (I know his hands are.)

Anyway, looks like it'll be another big day for Dave Thomas. Looking forward to it.

I read a report from someone who's been reliable in the past saying that Rodney is pretty much out unless the Pats get to the Super Bowl.

AFCCG would be iffy at best.

My view too -- well, wouldn't that be a nice game for a come-back!

That's what we have Dave Thomas and Jabar Gaffney for :) I really wish Rodney could have played this week too. It would have meant a lot for him to beat his former team. Oh well the Pats will need to get through this so Rodney gets to play next week.

Thanks for the compliments, I am new but I enioy it here so far :)

As for DT...I think he is a more reliable pass catcher than Watson. Ben of course has the phyiscal potential to be the most dominant tight end in a long time, but those hands always seem to get in the way. Thomas, on the other hand, has an unbelievable set of hands. I go to training camp a few times every year (as you can see by the pic in my sig, which I took this year) and watching him catch the ball up close was impressive. The ball just doesn't move when it gets to his hands, and I am pretty sure one of the writers reported he only dropped one pass in all of TC. He could be another good option for short, quick patterns because of the pass rush. I have more confidence in him catching the ball in traffic than BW and Captain Graham.

I don't think he'll be back should we advance to the AFC title game. To be ruled out on the first injury report of the week is a pretty bad sign as to how banged up he is. It's hard to imagine anything would change in a week. At this point the best we could hope for is having him back for the SB, again if we get that far, but even that seems iffy at best.

Maybe BB can just launch him out of a 6 foot tube and into the heart of the San Diego offensive line. I'm sure he is burning to play.

LOL! A Patriot missle, indeed. The defensive version of a shot gun formation.

And you're right . . . Rodney would be fired up to do it. If it works, he'd be cannonized. :singing:
