I figured that rather than clutter the main forum with a new thread on every single member of the media's prediction for Sunday's game we may be better served by consolidating those links, excerpts and reactions into one central place.

If you come across media predictions for the AFCCG that you would like to share, please post them here.

Without watching any of them:

Rodney - Pats
Bruschi - Pats
Sapp - Ravens
Faulk - Ravens
Mariucci- Pats
Sharpe - Ravens
Ditka - Ravens
Jackson - Ravens
Boomer - Pats

If I get any of those wrong I'll be shocked

The only one I can see going differently than what you've picked is Sapp. I think he could go either way. The others you are dead on.

This is now a "Media Predictions" predictions thread.

:D

But I think you've nailed 'em all.

Sapp picked the Ravens on Inside the NFL which means he will pick the Pats on the NFL Network.

Collinsworth picked the Pats. Also, Tomlinson picked the Pats too.

Albert Breer said on 98.5 that he is picking the Ravens. I think he even said that the Ravens are a much tougher match up for the Pats than people think. Actually, I don't actually have to listen to him to know he made that argument.

Also:

Of the ESPN "Experts", All but Seth Wickersham picked the Pats to win. Accuscore has the Pats winning 68% of the time in their simulator.

This game still goes down to the pats defense. Can they stop Ray Rice. Can they limit the big play from the ravens.Just hope they dont commit turnovers like they did on 09

Anyone know what happened to turn Breer into such a negative Nancy on the Pats? I used to enjoy his reports when he was on the Patriots beat. I know he went to Dallas and I guess it didn't quite work out, forcing him to return to the North East bitter and resentful.

I just had to post this...why? cuz I can, that's why. For all you who believe in superstition/jinx's, this one's for you! ;)

All the Yahoo Sports guys except Michael Silver pick the Pats:

Game Picks - Yahoo! Sports

The weird thing about Silver is in his power rankings last week, he had the Pats 4th in the remaining teams behind the Saints and Packers. A week later, Silver still had the Pats' 4th of the remaining four teams even after the Saints and Packers were elimated. I don't know how the Ravens squeaking by the Texans (ok, winning a close victory where you can argue they weren't the better team on the field) would catapault them over the Pats who crushed the Broncos in the most lopsided victory of the weekend. The guy has always had something against Belichick and the Pats.

well..the funny thing is he moans on twitter when people call him out as oversensitive fans but never outright praises pats for anything. most of the it will be something like "That was awesome play by brady." followed by "although remains to be seen if he can do blah blah"...and when called out he will say i praised the player ..what else do you wnt... Even now..he must be saying how ravens can beat the pats but not the other way...

total douche. Breer also predicted last week that Tebow would lead the Broncos to a late go ahead score, but Brady would lead the game winning drive as time expired.

Methinks he, ahem, doesn't know what he's talking about.

See?? We get no respect! No respect at all! :enranged:

:p

Kind of funny how much we as fans want to be disrespected underdogs, even as the favorite to win the Superbowl. Every negative article posted gets 5 times the responses of a positive article. I wonder if it's the same for the players, that they're eager to have "haters" to "prove wrong"?

Been discussed thoroughly here, but I think he's just trying too hard to show how worldly he is with his league-wide connections and insights now that he's big-time, while also making it clear he's not an NE homer. If he's among the media folks you follow during a game, you'll see him gush without restraint about plays by players on other teams, to an almost amateurish extent.

SVN's thing about the "oversensitive" fans in NE was from a classic Breer moment. Can't remember exactly what was being discussed, but someone sent a stupid comment to him and he chose to retweet it saying "this is what I mean by the oversensitive crap." The irony was remarkable. (Maybe he's the Joe Flacco of football media).

Anyway ... on the other end of the spectrum, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict Reiss picks the Pats. :)

On NFLN's "No Huddle" show this afternoon, Sanders, Theismann, Heinz Ward, and Dukes all picked New England.

After the last 4 years, Pats fans more than anyone else know that media predictions mean less than squat. Still, slow week, so what the heck:

Jason La Canfora: Pats

Steve Wyche: Pats

Michael Lombardi: Pats

Albert Breer: Ravens

Elliot Harrison: Pats

Jeff Darlington: Pats

Jason Smith: Pats

Adam Rank: Ravens

NFL.com news: Analyst predictions for Championship Sunday

I just hope the players don't look at this and get overconfident, or nervous.

Breer is a douche bag no doubt.. and I never noticed it until this week. to be honest I didnt really listen to him all that much but the man has some arrogance within. My dislike has nothing to do with the fact he is ho hum about the pats and seemingly a patriot hater.. but more to do with his personality traits. He has a nasally voice.. annoying. :D

you know what ... everybody on here used to love bert breer because he was the anti john tommose... now that he picks the ravens... which could happen , he is the anit christ.... he is not a pats homer anymore now he is a douche... great .....

with that said.. bert breer is wrong...
