CSNNE:Does the Ravens' defense own Brady?

This game can't get here fast enough

Geesh... one win in a decade.

Two years ago we had no Welker, Gronk, Hernandez, Branch, Ridley, Woodhead, Connelly, Waters, Solder, Spikes, Chung, McCourty, Anderson, Love, etc. etc.

ONE WIN IN A DECADE
17 different starters in place since that one win.
LET THAT SINK IN

Exactly what I was going to say. How can you "own" someone when you've only beaten him once?

Come on man, you can't deny that the Ravens are generally pretty good at disguising coverages, blitzes etc and confusing Brady more than most other teams. Brady and Belichick would tell you that themselves.

I won't even bring up the '09 game.. look at '10, you guys barely got the W in OT and Brady was clearly off his game.

But naahh, he's gonna hang 6 TDs on us as usual right?

Who is Rich Levine and why do we care what he says about the Pats???

No one said that. Stop with the ******ed exaggeration.

The irony here is that, as a Ravens fan, we are consistently pointing out that all we ask Flacco to do is win. With one exception, Brady has done that against the Ravens. Our hope is there is another exception on Sunday. I think that, for consistency, if a Ravens fan is going to support Flacco for winning ugly, you need to give props to Brady for doing the same against the Ravens.

Way to make fun of Patriots' fans for an argument no one here is even making. The Ravens defense has given Brady fits, but the game in '10 was our first without Randy Moss and with Deion Branch back in the lineup. Also, the TE's weren't nearly the players they are now. I'd be surprised if Brady struggles Sunday as much as he struggled on that occasion, but it could happen.

And you guys still lost to a watered down version of this offense. Deion's first game back and Gronk and Hernandez's 6th NFL game.

Nobody said that.

Look through the various threads and you will see that the overwhelming majority consider this to be the toughest game of the year. Go back to the beginning of the season or the beginning of the playoffs and people here considered the Ravens the team they least likely wanted to face in the post-season.

Overall the fans here a re cautiously optimistic, with a great deal of concern because the Ravens are a very good football team.

The response was in regards to the allegation that the 'Ravens own the Pats', or more specifically that the 'Ravens own Brady'. One win does not equal the term 'owning', no matter how you slice and dice it.

You're making an argument based on a statement that nobody made.

Still trying ban avoidance?

We also didn't have Ed Reed for that game. I think he might have made a difference, but what do I know.

Huh?

And I saw people saying that in the "Bring on the Ravens" thread like another poster stated.

Since you were quoting me, I will respond.

I was stating facts, not offering any of the opinions that you seem to suggest I was offering.

The question was whether the Raven's D "OWNS" Brady.

The answer is no, or else they would have had more success in gaining victories over the Patriots. It does not mean that I think the Patriots on the other hand "OWN" the Ravens, that they will score 6 TDs, or that 6 TDs would be the norm.

Are the Ravens good at disguising defenses?
Of course!

Are they a tough opponent?
Of course!

Do the Ravens and Patriots generally play tough, close games?
Of course!

Do you understand the facts and can you separate them from the garbage the media is spewing?

True, but you had him in all of the other losses suffered by the Patriots. I love the Ravens defense, I respect it more than any other honestly. I just think this time around, it'll be different.

The weapons we have are much more seasoned.

1. - Then why didn't you respond to it there? Nobody said that in this thread!

2. - If you look through the "Bring on the Ravens" thread most everyone agrees that this will be a tough game for the Patriots. Most of what could be termed 'high confidence' commentary was in response to Ravens fans who were acting as if there was no way that the Pats will win; how do you expect them to react.

3. - Every fan base and every fan forum is going to have a few overly optimistic homers that think the team they root for will win every game quite easily. I'm sure it wouldn't take me long to find some Raven fans that fit that same category.

You came over here to this thread seemingly out of nowhere with this wild exaggeration and over generalization; how exactly do you expect people to react to that statement?

This guy is a real sherlock

I used to beat my brother about 2 out of every 10 times we played racquetball. Man did I own him.

no one is denying the ravens have a good defense. What they are denying is that they "own" brady.
