Re: How to contain Ray Rice

Have Cam Cameron as your OC.

Lol..

I'm sure Rice will get plenty of touches come Sunday.

As a Pats fan, I certainly hope that the front 7 is up for doing their jobs.

Re: How to contain Ray Rice

I've watched the Ravens several times, but I'll admit it's less than half their games.

What's the OC doing wrong? What should he be doing more (and less) of?

Part of the reason I ask is because other Baltimore fans seem to be proponents of the Ravens letting Flacco throw more often to their WRs and TEs. To me Rice is by far the Pats biggest concern when they are on defense, whether it be on a screen or a run.

He doesn't put better players on the field

Example: last week, with 3 minutes and a few ticks left in the game, nursing a 4-point lead, and in FG range, Cam runs RR on 1st down for 5 yards. Texans take a TO. Ravens throw a short slant for an incomplete. Clock stops. Then they do the same on 3rd down. Clock stops. Then they kick a FG. Texans get the ball, still a one-score game, with 2 timeouts.

That's a specific example, but in general he wants to throw too much when he doesn't have the horses to run that sort of offense. He also tends to forget about Rice and at the end of a loss the guy has 8 carries.

Cameron is just terrible. The players dont like him or respect him.

Call the airlines and have his flight rerouted to Syberia.

Many BAL fans feel as though they should be giving Rice the ball more.

We've seen this happen several times just this yr alone, when other players on the team even called him out for it.

I have yet to hear the "let Flacco sling it around" argument, but I'm sure the fans would like to see more touches from their WR's + bigger plays, so it makes sense.

That's about the only way, unfortunately.

Let's hope like hell that the front 7 (and Chung/Ihedigbo) come to do their jobs on Sunday, tackle like a professional team, and use some good containment against Rice.

He's certainly a handful.

The thing is, you just don't know. Cam is dumb enough to try to throw 50 times and give Rice 10 touches.

Honestly, this game is a win-win. It's either go to the super bowl with a win or get Cam fired with a loss.

Re: How to contain Ray Rice

In the 2010 matchup, Rice had 28 carries for 88 yards (3.1ypc) and 8 catches for 38 yards (4.8ypc). He was the focus on 38 (2 incomplete passes in his direction) of the 69 plays Baltimore ran and accounted for 3.3 yards per play.

I'd say he was contained pretty well in 2010. Good tackling and keeping him in front of you. Granted, this is a very stark contrast from both contests in 2009, but so is our defense.

The thing that bothers me about your Ravens forum is that everyone there focuses on 2009, I have been reading them for a few days and don't recall a single person, Raven or Pats fan, bring up the 2010 match.

Is Flacco a good QB or not? The Ravens profess their love of the lad but I'm not sure I he has "IT". He complains that he never gets credit for their wins and then puts on a performance against the Texans for which he deserves no credit. Is he a slightly better Kyle Orton - game manager?

Well... There you have it! Cam will compose an incredibly bone headed game plan. :rocker:

Re: How to contain Ray Rice

Come on. Nobody thinks to check Wikipedia?
Malcolm "Cam" Cameron

Anyway, despite popular belief, the Pats shut him down pretty well last time they played. 28 carries, 88 yards, 3.1 YPCarry, 8 receptions, 38 yards, 4.1 YPCatch.
He had 77 rushing yards in regulation.
