Could this be the game where Chad Ochocinco breaks out and dominates like he could? He still has all the physical tools, and has shown that he can beat one on one coverage in his sleep when the time is right. The time will probably be right this Sunday... and if that happens, then the game will be over early. Baltimore's defense may want to stand by if Chad gets going and starts to gain confidence this Sunday. You know he is going to be pumped up, excited and ready to play for this playoff game...

We've been waiting for this since Week 1 and it still hasn't happened. He's essentially now our 5th WR and doesn't play special teams. In a word, he's dead weight. A breakout game from him would be excellent, but it's definitely not happening.

Some day, decades from now, Ocho is going to being sitting in a chair bouncing his grandkid on his knee.

Suddenly, the light's gonna come on: "I FINALLY UNDERSTAND THE PATRIOTS' OFFENSE!!!!"

at this point im going to expect to see another one of these threads after the SB

Maybe.

Ocho has had good games against the Ravens

Postmodern ironic humour thread of the week!

Perhaps for one play, but I wouldn't characterize that as a 'breakout game'.

- He's not going to be part of the hurry-up sub package

- If the Pats go with an extra OL to help protect Brady, one of the skill players is already coming off the field.

- Aside from the above situation, what skill player do you want to take off the field to give Ocho more snaps?

- The Pats won thirteen games and scored 32 point per game this year, then won last week scoring 45 points; why change what's not broken?

I predict he will at least double, Yes DOUBLE, his production from last week. Maybe even Triple it.

Do I come correct that there has been a new thread about this topic every single week since preseason week 2?

I have always been one of the more patient and optimistic guys when it came to OchoCinco, but I don't expect him to do anything anymore. I am tired of talking about him.

At this point, I will be shocked if he has more than one or two catches a game this weekend and the Super Bowl if they make it that far.

I think the Pats actually had a pretty good free agency overall, but it was for less heralded guys (Waters, Carter, Anderson, Ihedigbo, Sterling Moore) than their two marquee trades (Ochocinco, Haynesworth). Time to accept Ochocinco was a mistake. It wasn't a costly mistake, but a mistake none the less. He is not going to be a big factor unless he turns into Jabar Gaffney (who went the entire 2006 season since we was acquired in October without making an impact and then had over 100 yards in the division round). I ain't betting on it though.

That is not entirely accurate. Some weeks there have been multiple threads on this topic. "a new thread" implies only one, that is false.

The guy is great with the fans, maybe the PATS are grooming him for a career in football public relations? Somehow it doesn't look like he has an ongoing career as a receiver. It's been a whole season, where is the production?

If it hasn't happened by now, then it probably isn't going to.

Hey guys.......

I don't mean to be rude or anything, but it's only Wednesday afternoon at 1 PM. This weekly thread is not supposed to appear until Thursday's at 8 AM.

Mods, can we PLEASE post the rules again on the appropriate times to post the official "Ocho to have a breakout game" thread.

Thank you. ;)

Chad is a waste of roster space and should have hung up the cleats a year ago.

With that being said,It would not surprise me to see the team wanting Chad to score a TD in memory of his father who passed away and Brady tossing a 2 yarder at the goaline to him to do it.

I expect 2-3 receptions.

He gets separation, but just doesn't seem to be on the same page as Brady, which I would assume means the mental portion of the offense just isn't clicking with him. He still has the talent to be a productive receiver in the NFL, just maybe/probably not in this offense.

Maybe he will sneak on to the field and catch an 8 yarder.

Those must have been the weeks after Price was cut; had to fill the thread gap for a bit after BB yanked the "Is this Taylor Price's breakout week" angle from us.

The guy is not dumb. Washed up, yes. But still smart enough to collect 6 mill/yr to do absolutely zero. Goodbye, Ochostinko, we hardly knew ye. Hello, Brandon Lloyd. :D
